UA im not sure what the NC diatribe you went off on has to do with anything. Are you mad that the negotiating committee is not flying full-time? Do you not think they’re doing full-time work during negotiations? I would make an educated guess they are working more hours than we are as line pilots. As other posters have pointed out why don’t you step up? I saw a posting for numerous elections over the last few months. Was your name on the list? It’s obvious you believe in an approach that entails opening numerous sections. That, however, was not the opinion of the majority of pilots in the surveys it sounds like. Get over it you were in the minority. The majority wins. This is the basis of a union vs being a none union pilot group. Like pinseeker pointed out show up and recall them or shut up. Talking like a tough guy on the internet about people behind their back is cowardly. Professionalism

- Are you mad that the negotiating committee is not flying full-time? Do you not think they’re doing full-time work during negotiations? I'm not mad about the NC not flying but I believe a month or two of real line flying and talking to people day in and day out would better capture pilot sentiment and get the NC out of their own echo chamber. The old folktale "The Emperor's New Clothes" comes to mind.
- As other posters have pointed out why don’t you step up? This is a typical ALPA response. Every pilot on our list that is off of probation pays for representation and has a right to voice their opinions and concerns. We pay a lot of money to be represented and the tired response of "take what you get and shut up and row" unless you run for office has proven to be a red herring.
- It’s obvious you believe in an approach that entails opening numerous sections. That, however, was not the opinion of the majority of pilots in the surveys it sounds like. Get over it you were in the minority. The majority wins. I have never personally seen all of the polling results. I don't know what the majority wanted. I do know that the climate has changed greatly in the last 9 months to include the messaging from senior leadership. The goal was also to have a deal completed by May of 2022. We are nearing a year beyond that date, a failure.
- Talking like a tough guy on the internet about people behind their back is cowardly. Nothing I have said here has not been said to my reps. Sharing my opinion with other pilots is not cowardly. I'm sorry that you don't agree with me but that's okay. I know not everyone has the exact same views as me. I welcome healthy professional debate unlike the ALPA insiders who take this too personally. Guess what, suggesting people go back to the line is not asking them to be unemployed or wishing them ill will. They return to a job that many of us do every month. Is that so bad?

As has been said time and again, if you feel you’re representatives are not doing the job they were elected to do then bring a recall to the April meeting. It sounds to me like you are simply pouting because you have an opinion different than others. If you have real information to substantiate your statements that they have been nasty and unprofessional to you I am positive you will find someone to second it. PM me with the evidence and I will show up and second it for you.
I have talked to my rep regarding how the openers were made and why they have not shifted those goals. I agree with his assessment. Especially after hearing the NC at the last hub turn meeting talk about mediation and the NMB’s expectations from both sides entering mediation. My understanding from what they said is mediation doesn’t allow you to change your opener positions on a whim based on the wind direction of the day. That same restriction applies to the company. Imagine for a second if the company was allowed to renegotiate positions or sections they didn’t open. The process of negotiations then wouldn’t work. Both sides would constantly “shift the goalposts” as the NC stated. My rep also said when you enter meditation both sides sign a protocol agreement that lays out what sections are still open for negotiations. The mediator then agrees to that as the basis for mediation. Breaking that contract forgoes mediation from my understanding. I don’t believe it’s useful to blow up the whole process because a few people on social media (me included). I believe the surveys are the way to go that way the majority are allowed to respond not just a few APC posters (myself included). My suggestion is you take a deep breath and realize you are one opinion like mine in a pot of 5,800 opinions. I won’t get everything I want in the new contract same as you. That is why we are part of a union. It’s about the whole not individuals. If you don’t like that may I suggest you leave FedEx and gain employment at a none union airline that allows you to negotiate for just yourself. After that takes place compare what you negotiated for yourself to our contract. Let me know how that turns out…..

The APA is supposedly on the 1 yard line close to an AIP. Let’s hope it’s on par or better than DAL, and let’s demand our own industry leading contract. We have earned it. Anything less, vote no on the TA, and vote yes on a strike.

Really, we need to be making close to or over $600 per hour to keep up with regional pay rates? Can you provide a link to those contracts? I mean, a 24% DOS raise brings our top rate to $416 per hour. Then add another 40%-50% on top of that brings us to $586-$624 per hour. Man, Delta sold out on their rates then.
