FedEx Has a TA
#151
The MEC did see each section prior to the TA. When I spoke with my rep the week prior to the TA being announced, he said he had seen each of the TA'd sections. He also said we would not have industry leading payrates and many would not benefit from the retirement plan improvements. No B-fund additions, either.

I never said he saw the payrates. He said we won't be industry leading. He kept mentioning Delta's 767-300 rates and UPS. He said don't expect Delta's top end rates.

So how much higher will we be than DAL 76-300/A300 rate? How much higher will we be compared to UPS rate? If we have the industries highest 76-300 and A300 isn’t that industry leading in those categories? Are you advocating that we do away with a single wide body pay rate so that we can go to a DAL style pay scale?

Your rep, isn't allowed to discuss any sections of the TA before they are presented to the MEC, so your info is pretty much false. Nice try on the fake news.

Its time to walk away from the, "line in the sand" mentality. The company can afford to pay the maximum IRS limit to the DB. We have been making record profits for the company while sitting in hotel prison for the last year and a half. Its time we reap the rewards. And who would give up a lifetime annuity that pays $230K per year, if the DB plan gets increased? With 9% B plan contributions, I'll have at least 4-5 mill in my 401k, thats 28yrs of contributions. Having a known DB plan lets me invest in more aggressive funds. But the Union wants to put our DB at the whim of the market?
Let's meet back here when this industry leading document is presented in all its glory.

Typo AA A300 new rate. At DAL it would be in the same pay band as the 76-300. It’s the exact same pay rate as the DAL 76–300. $349.50 Max Capt Rate.
Lets say the rumors of 14% increases are used. We would have a $382 rate on those two aircraft. 8% higher than AA/DAL on equivalent aircraft if my math is correct. That would be by FAR industry leading on those aircraft correct?

Gifted you have to be kidding! How about gifted 250 plus over 60 guys coming back on top of you after the age change keeping you in the right seat for 5 more years. Most of us took 10 plus years to make widebody Captain. I in no way support leaving the junior guys behind or stuck with a bad contract but your comments are way off base for many of us!

I hope we get a B plan increase but not a show stopper for me. Other airlines ONLY have one piece to improve retirement, which is why they must improve the B plan to get any larger retirement.
We have more than one piece in our retirement bucket. Im not hell bent on a B plan increase if we have a large A plan increase. Our company B plan contributions gets larger with increased pay rates.
If all we are worried about is a B plan increase then why have a 15 year fight about a big pension increase.
