So...
Schedules?
Upgrade times?
QOL?
Pay? Currently advertising $75,000 first year.
Any other important info I should be aware of? Sorry for the long list, any info is appreciated!

Mutiple schedules 8/7 7/7 fixed for 6 months
Flex schedule bid every month expect atleast 3 weekends a month and every holiday for a number of years it pays a bit more but basically no choice of schedule untill you are senior 10 years+

Upgrade time: We have 17 year Phenom SIC who hope to ugrade in a few years. You could probably expect 13 to 15 years before you upgrade.

QOL : on the road you will have 4 legs per day average and minimum 12 hours duty closer to 13 hours a day. Hotel quality has decreased in the last5 years.

Pay Advertising $75,000

New Contract says first year FO is $50,923 and at 10 year FO it is
$69,403 on 8/7 fixed day schedule a bit more if you want to work almost every weekend and holidays.
They might be including the value of benefits but pay is per contract.
Or they are doing some bait and switch when you quit your current job then find out what the real pay is.
Contact the union to get a copy of the contract to see the numbers in black and white.

Question though - I’m interested in a flying job that doesn’t consume me. Something where if I wanted to have a month where I got paid crap, I could take some time off. I supposed a way to drop flying here and there. Is there a way to work very little at times with Flexjet? Or are they severely understaffed where they will be taking your days off and giving you zero say in your schedule?

Thanks for the info
Why are you not looking at the airlines? I work for probably the third worst major in the country and my job is still twice as good as any fractional. I had less than 17 days off a month once in 2017, 18 days off 4 months, 19 days off 3 months, and 20+ days off 4 months. And every month I was paid over guarantee. If you want time off and pay come to 121 and don't screw around with coffee, ice, and papers.

I suppose the appeal here is that you are basically home based. The commuting game has really left a bad taste in my mouth. It's crazy that the airlines can't give up a seat for those who are legitimately going to work. Non-reving on your time off is one thing. But being unable to live in some large city or uproot your entire family if you get hired somewhere isn't always an option.

I live in ATL. The big D doesn't want anything to do with us regional pukes. Next best option I'm thinking is to feel out the fractionals that home base you.

Default info please

I had the phone interview today with FlexJet, and I am looking for some verification on what they said. I am not new to the aviation industry; I'm just looking for some non-hateful answers, I don't care if FlexJet is the "worst ever." Please feel free to PM me with any info you have.
Thanks

Pay 51k with 8/7, 62k with PBS schedule
Was told 98% of new hires are going to the Challenger and Legacy
Upgrade was 3-4 years, now its closer to 2 years
Hotels were all at least 3.5/4 stars
Rental car provided during training for every 2 crewmembers
They talked about a fuel savings/performance bonus
The contract is in negotiations
They were expecting 25 new aircraft in 2018
There was plenty of opportunities to work overtime

Again, thanks for your time

yes true per contract but Expect 3 weekends per month and holidays on PBS

Was told 98% of new hires are going to the Challenger and Legacy

I find that hard to believe since we are short over 50 pilots in the Phenom and have between 10 to 15 aircraft uncrewed each day.

Upgrade was 3-4 years, now its closer to 2 years

Total BS we have 17 year SIC who are still waiting to upgrade there will be atleast 400 pilots ahead of you wating to upgrade. If there are 40 captain slots per year (which there never has been in my 18+ years here) open you are looking at 10 years minimum.

Hotels were all at least 3.5/4 stars

Depends on where, but quality is about 3 average now

Rental car provided during training for every 2 crew members

Yes true
They talked about a fuel savings/performance bonus

fuel bonus $2000 per year, performance bonus not existent on Phenom for red label you need to be captain to get bonus FO’s are not assigned aircraft so no bonus

The contract is in negotiations

yes for the next number of years2 or 3?

They were expecting 25 new aircraft in 2018

maybe but how many old aircraft are they going to retire so there might be just a net increase of 5 or 6 not enough to generate 40 new captain positions per year. 6

There was plenty of opportunities to work overtime

yes,but limited to 12 days every six months by contract.

Again, thanks for your time

I hope that helps

According to the contract traditional line pilots also get a performance bonus up to 10% of their base salary. Measured quarterly and paid out every 6 months. 27.10(c)

“...there will be 400 pilots ahead of you waiting to upgrade...”

That’s a bit of an exaggeration. There are only about 575 pilots total.

There are about 200 FOs on the list currently. Will they upgrade 40 of us a year for the next 5 years? Not a snowball’s chance! 8-10 year upgrade.

Commuting does suck and my life is far different living in base than those that don't. I always preflight my jumpseat and ensure I'm not leaving a fellow behind.
