Due to life circumstances, namely my wife's job contract, we need to stay where we currently are for the next 7 months. Where we presently live is about a 3-3.5 hour drive from the nearest reporting base, however I do have extended family at that reporting base that would be willing to let me utilize their residence. The plan would be for this to be temporary until my wife's contract is up and then we would move to an actual reporting base.

So my first question, is this actually allowed by the company? And second, is my family's address what the company will want to use for pay/tax purposes? My one issue is that the reporting base my family's house is close to is actually across a state line. Would I be able to keep my current residency and just report from there, or will the company want me to make that my actual residence for tax purposes, etc...

Thanks!
I don't know for sure, but my guess would be that you can use any address you want as your home residence for tax purposes. We have pilots that change bases temporarily during the winter months or for whatever reason, and they are not constantly changing their permanent home state of residence. Your setup seems to work in the short term, but is definitely not going to be good for you long term. I've flown with people with long drives into base, even with a local "crashpad", it sucks and gets old real quick. The good thing is, if you haven't even applied yet, that 7 months will be half over by the time you even get on the line. I would apply and if asked about it, be honest about your plan with the local relative and moving, but as far as the tax thing I'm pretty confident you'll be okay.

Yes, $65K year 1 base pay. Bonus and flight/duty pay come into play after that.

What other 135 PC12 operators? What are you seeing as far as pay there?

I was told that they don’t and I know that they don’t take it out for Maryland

65k base salary 1st year. For me, bonus and flight/duty pay is at 13k in October (so possibly 15k by the end of the year... of course, this is variable, depending on how much you happen to work. OT is readily available as well.

Hmm. I'll correct my correction then. They take out taxes for some remote pilots.

$100K+ for PC12 at Guardian. Admittedly different kind of flying.

Default Application Question

I currently have 840 hours TT logged per 61.51. Flight experience in total I have 1015 TT when I include 175 hours of CJ4 SIC time I cannot log due to single pilot regulations. When applying to PlaneSense, should I list my hours using the numbers that include the not (technically) logged SIC time and explain my time in an interview, or use my official logbook totals and include a comment about my SIC experience? Asking because I am unsure if my application will be noticed with only 840 hours. Thank you all in advance!

If the time can't be used towards the time needed to be a 135 PIC then I would not include it.

Ah okay. My thought process was to use the higher number of flight time, not to deceive the hiring managers, but make it known that I have over 1000 hours of flight experience. If I apply stating that I have 1000+ hours of flight experience, clearly separated into two sections on my resume, and my logbook reflects the legal total, I’m not sure if I see the issue with it. It would be a different story if I was deceiving them, with a resume and logbook reflecting 1000+ hours. Thoughts?
