Suffice it to say I've been here long enough to see the good bad and ugly. I'm not going to discuss specifics since this thread is read regularly by upper management. But please know I don't disagree with you that EAS is overall a good company, and could become a really great place to be. I hope it will be somewhere I can spend at least a few more years. But I'm also not going to look at any situation through rose colored glasses.

JungleJ, I agree with you. I was there in the early years of 2003 or 04, and I got typed in the BE-400 and I had no clue as a new jet cpt, nor did anyone else at EAS. It really sounds like the company is not in need of a union, but is in need of some upper management changes...I guess some things never change.

Not a lot to report. Pilots are dropping fast. The job market is too good right now to sit and wait for them to make a decision.
The scary part for those of us still employed here is that I think it's past the point of recovery now. Guys are working every single day on, and receiving multiple phone calls to do bonus on off days. They will never be able to hire enough to fill the gaps and also catch up on attrition, unless they offer something DRASTIC ( which lets be real here)
EAS management didn't plan ahead, and now they are paying hard for it. At some point soon flights will begin to cancel and the clients will start looking elsewhere.
It's really a shame because with a few upper management changes, I think it could be very different. There are too many conceptual flaws in how things are run here at the company. Certain individuals are here only for their own pockets, and not for the employees long term interests.

Some good news.. Revisions of the P&P have allowed for those SIC's coming in to receive a type rating and complete their ATP. The P&P states it will be in the cheaper of the two training sessions you receive and closer to the expiration of the written. So for instance if your position is to fly the phenom 300 and 100 they would pay for your type in the 100. Also if you do not have a complete written before the rule change they will pay for the ATP/CTP. There are talks of a "retention" plan in the form of a possible 10 and 5 company wide schedule as well as raises across the board. VSIpegged may have it right though. They are behind and scheduling has actually had to turn down flights due to a shortage of pilots. So moving everyone to a 10/5 would require excess pilots in comparison to now. There seems to be hope and talk of the decisions happening within the month.

10/5 company wide will do absolutely nothing to retain pilots. Pay will help a little, and some will stay because of it. However, the 2:1 schedule is just not competitive in the job marketplace anymore!
