Anyway despite hiccups some in my class have experienced (like the guy who ended up without a reservation and had to buy a week of hotels on his own), already far and away better than a regional. I can already tell many aspects stand to benefit from improvement, but it’s still better. I look forward to what the future holds.

yeah. you paying that 20k gave you confirmed seats on your flights... You didnt have to wait in a list of 10-30 standbys and hope your family can get on.
Id just scrub your losses and be happy you can afford to travel so much.
but yep, we need to demand and get better benefits and higher pay.

It’s my understanding that the only people we’re hiring at ATP minimums or less are those who are apart of a pathway program with an associated flight school or university. The vast majority of new hires are coming from the regionals for the time being.

Not exactly. We will hire off the street with a restricted or full ATP. The program pilot pilot restriction only applies to those who do not have an ATP of any description in their possession.

Thought I would post my hiring timeline for those on the outside looking in. Interviewed 1/19 in MIA, CJO on the spot. 1/25 HR Compliance emailed me instructions for completing background check, fingerprinting, and drug test. I did all those on 1/26 that week. Checked in a week later and found out my drug test paperwork was messed up, so I had to redo it last week 2/2. Emailed with a class date today, 2/8. Feb 22. class.
So about 3 weeks from interview to full CJO/class date. I would imagine interviewing in DEN and not having a nurse mess up your drug test form would speed things up a bit for everyone else...
