You guys are cute with your Frontier themed skirts and matching pom poms! Seriously though, playing this recent near halt in hiring and upgrades as the "normal" slowdown over the summer has a nice company apologist ring to it.

In other news, have all the original April, May, and beyond class hires been given start dates yet?

The thing that is "normal" about it is that it has happened for the past several years and in that time frame the seniority list has doubled. More people are at this company who have experienced a slow down or halt in hiring over the summer than those who haven't.

There are also those who were here before the hiring and experienced several years of no hiring at all.

Point is, it's not apologist. It's reality. It's how Frontier/Indigo want to operate the airline. I don't really care if they choose to have these tidal hiring patterns as long as the end numbers are there. Ask those in the know, the company has already stated they do not intend to hire next June-Aug/Sept.

Yes, they have. I believe the last of them are in the December class. It was supposed to be 48? But it’s 40? Because they have new instructors they are training as well.

It's not being a company apologist. Its math.

If we grow the fleet by 18 airplanes in a given year, there is a corresponding number of pilots that need to be hired. Doing simple math, I can already see that if we hire 48 a month at the beginning of the year, we will stop hiring during the summer again. (Like every summer). I'm not being an apologist, I'm doing math.

I don't understand why you come on this forum to spread negativity that's often not based on reality. I post here when I can answer people's questions and be helpful. I think that showing people that 48/ month of new hires is way beyond the average needed is helpful information.

I would think the 48 a month might be for the Thomas Cook aircraft? So it may come back down after that. I remember them saying they were aligning the deliveries to a more level schedule across the year so they wouldn’t have to start and stop hiring through the year.

2019 started with the news of two new bases and 350 hires. Then it goes to zero. It's the same every year.

The one thing you can count on is a bunch of changes to manuals for the sake of change with no real experience. That hasn't slowed down.
