We’ve been in mediation for two years and have zero progress to show for it. Our status meeting was cancelled due to the government shutdown and, according to our MEC email received today, the NMB doesnt really care. Instead of getting $ in union dues back I would gladly give much much more to change this stupid process.

Sad thing is, looking at Allegiant & Fedex, we still have at least another 3-4 years of this to go! Aren't they both around 5 years in, with the NMB and also no progress and no release to strike.

Didnt Atlas make it 10 years of negotiations or something absurd?

I mean at this point if anyone has time left in the career you’d think you’d lose money by starting over, but that may not be the case. Just a scary thing to start over and take a pay cut and work your way from the bottom again.

I think we are wasting our dues with this nonsense. Meanwhile our peers are gladly enjoying the increases they’ve gained. Really wonder why no one has ever to my knowledge tried to rework the wide umbrella of the RLA because it’s absolutely trash.

bernie and 35 dem officials put forward a bill to limit time on airline negotiations, bill was driven by United’s fas, not one rep official signed on, uphill battle in this administration to get more funding to nmb for more mediators. Thank the 51% for this current slowdown.

I wasn’t aware… but hey I always wondered why the majority of Airline pilots are Republican because it’s really the opposite belief of being a union worker but everyone’s entitled to a belief…

There is very little incentive for either party or any administration to change the RLA process. It won’t generate votes (money and power) for them. It’s also a bad narrative for them to do anything but give it lip service. The story that will get the most press is about how a bunch of 6 figure pilots who only work 4 days a week want to be able to strike and force companies to pay them more and pass that cost on to the flying public. Bernie can appeal to his base by proposing something that he knows will never see the light of day. It’s no political risk to him. Politicians will care about changing the RLA about the time that we care about giving the public more flight options by relaxing cabotage rules.

Yep, sadly, the general public doesnt give a rats ass about how much we make and some even think we make too much for "putting the plane on autopilot and sitting there"

Because, Biden. Period. Full Stop. Worst president and Congress in history and I voted for him.
