Anyone in any industry wants to be paid what they're worth. What exactly IS that though? How do I know what I'm worth? Several questions to ask:
Do I do the same job (or more)?
Do I have the same equipment to work with or is my equipment better (or worse)?
Is the environment the same - ie. do I have work conditions that favor my abilities or make them more difficult?
And, last but not least, are others BETTER than me (or worse) given the same/similar of above?
I know what my answers are. And, if you are paid less and are content - because you make more than your neighbor who doesnt have the same job or because the meak additional opportunities of open time/premium pick up are occurring, then I don't ever want to fly with you. I don't want you at my airline. And I don't want you in my industry. I would like for you to go sell insurance, or flip burgers or examine peoples teeth (not mine) or whatever people do who think less of themselves than their coworkers doing the same thing. Mainly because I would be apprehensive that you might not feel up to the task when times get tough and quick, decisive but confident decision makings is needed. I can't operate thinking the person next to me might, at any time, say "Well, we're not paid as much so - maybe I'm not worth it. Maybe this catastrophic issue was supposed to happen to me."
Of course, I can do nothing to affect that and probably will never know who you are but just understand, I think one of the worst kind of people are those who has lesser self worth. And I hope that if any similar conversation were to ever occur in a cockpit in which yoy\u are flying, I would pray that whomever you're flying with has enough self respect to express these same sentiments to you in a professional and tactful way that isn't abravise or causes friction within the work environment that endagers anyone.
Just so we're clear about where I (and I hope many others) stand.

By Year-4-ish, he is bumping up against Frontier Captain pay rates.
Glad you are happy with your earnings, which are more than your non-airline friends, and less than your airline friends.
Not being crass, but fair and equitable pay should be the goal.

That doesn’t exist now. From 0 hours we offer $1000/month while you get all your certificates, an ATP, a job and an Airbus type rating. It’s a better gig by far than any regional.
until the bottomless bucket of cadets dries up there will be no contract. Doesn’t matter, IMO, how there is no open time for FO’s.

I was not here for the last contract but I’ve been told the inciting event that drove Barry to show up to negotiations was nobody wanted a job at Frontier. Nobody wanted a job and Barry couldn’t expand and get new aircraft as a result. So, presto change-o we got a contract.

There is a process. It is being followed. We are moving as fast as we can. This will not be easy. This will not be quick. Welcome to the RLA process.

However, we just need the NMB process to play out and an impasse to be declared. We won't run out of applicants like last time. We need the threat of a strike instead.
