Thank you guys for the info on TRS vs United Health. One more question... How often do bid vacancies run? Quarterly/every other month/as needed?? I start class in two weeks and hoping to be DEN based through the end of the year and then MCO come January.

They run vacancies as needed. Lately they have been nearly every month. I suspect they will have one a month for the rest of the year. I think new hires can get any base they want.

The company just ran a system wide mock bid to see what interest people have in bidding Orlando. I was surprised at how many people bid for Orlando. Anyhow, that topic could be debated at length, but I think if someone wants Denver, they'll get it

I know several people that want Orlando, but so far it shows they will not get it. Not sure about Captains.

I suppose during the first couple vacancies, a really junior fo might not get it, but as the base grows, I'm sure they will. The mock bid I think had a lot of people bidding things they don't really intend to do. Just seeing what/if they can get.

I suspect way less people will actually bid to change bases than the mock bid showed

I'm mid-700s on the overall list. So far, I can just barely hold it.

Thanks sulkair. The next 5 months and 28 1/2 days will most likely go slow for me.

Congratulations. I think you'll like it here. The operation can be less than perfect sometimes, but the pilot group is excellent. Tons of great guys and gals here to fly with. And the Airbus is awesome...

I'll second this. It would be difficult to fly a 737. I like my space.
