Yep, and guess who I never got hired with? Life is what u make it, and if anyone expects any company or government will take care of them, or care about them, even Southwest, its pure delusion!

A couple of points to make. I've been at SWA for awhile and make 325,000 a yr and have for the last 5 yrs. You really can't use 85 or even 90 trips for pay because it depends on how much you wish to fly. I limit myself to 149 days a year or less, including all days at work. I know several guys that average over $400,000 a year but they work pretty hard to do that. Second, don't listen to guys on a forum to see if you like the working conditions. If possible ride their jumpseat several times to get a taste of what it's like. Third, are the new hires at Frontier still going to be mad at SWA crews on the van ride to/from airport?

Ok, you are making north of 2 GRAND everytime you put your uniform on. And getting 18 plus days off per month! That about settles this little argument! Lol. Or cry outloud rather.

I can't imagine our newhires being mad at you. Congrats on doing so well for yourself.

Those are awesome salary numbers. However personally I have zero desire to join swa, never had any. I hope your new contact is even better in every section possible, and you guys pull in even more cash. Our negotiations open up next March and we need to shoot for highest wages we can.

On a side note, do you guys ever talk about anything else besides good old military days when you guys at the bar or flying?

ULLI

No worries, SWA is not for everyone. Personally would go to Delta over SWA today. Just wanted to give the real numbers of what one can expect, at least today. Who knows tomorrow.

I can substantiate his statement. Directly from DW and GG this week. No class in November, then classes of only 6 until the Spring, around April-ish.
