Who cares? Do you really care? If it happens what are you going to do?

Dust off the resume and work on going somewhere else.

I'm not sure why anyone would be against merging with WN. Beyond getting a large pay raise, there would be instant QOL improvements, west coast bases, and management team that cares more than the one we have.

A new contract may bring pay parity with Southwest. And the fact remains that the upgrade at WN could realistically be 15-20 years.

Ask the AirTran pilots that were bumped back to the right seat and forced to commute to one of those west coast bases what they think about the merger with Southwest.

Plus the 737 sucks office wise, compared to the Airbus.

No thanks.

Having to shoehorn myself into a tight, uncomfortable cockpit for the next 27 years while commuting to Oakland waiting for my 20 year upgrade? Thanks, but no thanks.

You guys can't see the forest for the trees. I, for one, would gladly shoe-horn myself into a cardboard box for a ~66% raise.

Meh, I think a future merged F9/NKS would be a better bet than the very bottom of SWA. Just my opinion. Sure we both have ****ty contracts now but that's temporary

Oh yeah that explains why here at F9 we have a line out the door of SWA applicants just clamoring to get out of those tight flight decks, superior schedules, and more than double compensation/bennies. They're shouting, "We're going to be captains so fast at the ULCCs! It's gonna be so awesome, bro!"

Why just the other day as I was waiting 45 minutes for an airport area hotel shuttle a SWA guy came up and asked how we managed to always get to stay in 30 year old places with free breakfast. I told him, "Well sir, it's easy to grin when your ship comes in and you've got the stock market beat. But the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat." A tear of sheer admiration came to his eye as he sunk his head low and got into his already waiting transportation service to a city center 5 star hotel.
