They’re having slight delays with the leap engines and with that we’re returning more planes then what we are receiving until spring/mid 2018. So I’m not surprised, we’re staffed accordingly. The planes being returned that we “might renegotiate leasing contracts” are all scheduled for the paint shops and are heading to Asia.

United has already "declared war" on Frontier. I would not be surprised if we have a large number of our newer pilots getting picked off by United. Frontier management better pull their heads from the sand quick, United will hire faster than we can train replacements. You can kiss goodbye any chance of us growing in 2018, even if they mysteriously pick up some unwanted Airbus deliveries, from Virgin or anywhere else.

1st year pay at United is $46/hr greater than Frontier ($85 vs. $39).
2nd year pay at United is between $77 to $83/hr greater than Frontier
($125/131 vs. $68, depending on equipment at UAL).
Now if you’ve been at Frontier for 1-2 years, you’ll have to consider pay going forward for years 3&4, etc.
But the point is, you can afford to pay the training contract and still come out ahead by going to United.
