Are people actually leaving for better jobs? I know we had a couple retirements last month but otherwise attrition has been very low this year.

I know of at least 2 FOs in the last 4 months that have gone to Delta. Attrition is much lower this year than last.

I think a lot of guys on the fence about leaving are waiting to see how the next month or two play out with the contract. There is a difference between having your apps out and actively attending job fairs to leave. I think most guys on the fence haven’t done much of the latter from whom I’ve talked to.

United Hiring 1200 Pilots!!!

United just announced they are hiring 1200 pilots next year. Big numbers for others as well. I wonder if that will have impact on our attrition?

Why wait? Imagine being #100 out of those vs #1200. If you want to leave Frontier, now is the time. Of course the next contract will be much better, but it will likely still lag behind United's.

United has already "declared war" on Frontier. I would not be surprised if we have a large number of our newer pilots getting picked off by United. Frontier management better pull their heads from the sand quick, United will hire faster than we can train replacements. You can kiss goodbye any chance of us growing in 2018, even if they mysteriously pick up some unwanted Airbus deliveries, from Virgin or anywhere else.
