Problem is that the quality of pilots that we can choose from is getting real thin.

Makes sense. Love the pilot group at F9. Good vibes over there.

Good question. I’d be curious to know as well. It’s my understanding that last weeks group (4/24) had 8 and only 3 offers.
The week prior had 10 and only 2

Read Bolo’s post and you’ll have your answer. The hiring folks refuse to lower expectations despite pressure from HR to assume control of the entire process. This is a GOOD thing.

Could anyone here explain to me what the implications would be for a new hire in their first year if it comes to Frontier pilots exercising their right to strike?

It is my understanding that pilots are not protected by the union until year 2, so they would subjected to either being fired by the company or crossing the line and become a SCAB. Is this accurate?

I am just wanting to make sure prospective pilots such as myself, who have never worked with an unionized labor force, take this into consideration if my info is accurate.

I believe all probation pilots are fired, usually. They now CBA will require they are reinstated.

That's what I've heard. I wouldn't let that aspect of the F9 situation bother you.

I wonder how bad having to admit that you've been fired from an airline would look on your next application.

Definitely not worth the risk if you ask me.

Depends who is making the hiring decision...HR or a union pilot.

Plus they get reinstated after the strike, so not really an issue.

It certainly could be if you want to get on at a legacy. You'd still have to check that box. Not worth the risk.
