My apologies to the OP. I did not mean to come across as defensive. I just think going from corporate to a regional is gonna suck for him. Not insinuating that coming here is any better. If you can stomach a regional I would go to one with a flow. That would be the best option if you can't get on with SWA, JB UAL AA DAL etc.. Coming here would be a lateral move at best.

I’ll be better off at the regional. Yes literally. It’s unbelievable what they’re trying to get away with. Hope you guys get a good contract.
Someone who gets it.

If you come to Frontier at this point, make no mistake about it: you are part of the problem, not part of the solution.

THIS!!! I don’t understand why this is so hard to figure out. You’d think the website built by ALPA would be a big enough hint.

Let me put it in perspective, at least my perspective.

Corporate can run the spectrum from some of the worst to some of the best flying jobs out there. I had two very good corporate jobs. One lasted 5 years, one lasted 3 years. I was lucky, they were both excellent jobs. Before those jobs and in between I did a lot of 135. One very good part 135 job that I would recommend to young pilots wanting to get experience.

I’m about halfway through my career age wise with tons of jet pic, some international. I have no degree. Yah, I know, big mistake but I’m working on that now.

When I found out my job was going away and considering the state of the industry I realized that if I’m going to pursue a major airline position, now is the time. I can always go back to corporate.

My plan is to apply for the best and take the best that I can get while working hard to make myself as marketable as I can. I almost immediately got an interview with a regional and I was offered a job. I’m taking it and I’ll work hard to do better. In the meantime this regional job isn’t bad all things considered and compared to F9, for me, it will honestly be better.

If I lived in a F9 domicile it would be a tougher choice but when you look at the numbers, F9 looks pretty much like the regionals minus the bonus. For a three or four year job I’d rather take the bonus and the quick upgrade to Captian so I can position myself best for the potential to get on with a major.

I’ve got a lot more to say about all this but I’m going to stop here and spend some time with my family.

Cheers!

Not to mention, no vacations for the foreseeable future.

If you don’t work here, you truly can not understand the hatred for the pilots coming from this management group. They will screw you over every single chance they get.

Every time I think it can’t possibly get worse, I’m proven wrong on my very next trip. Time and again.

You're making the right call. I'll PM you when we get a contract. If you haven't made it to a major by then, we'd love to have you.

Just a message to our new Purdue Restricted ATPs that will be joining us in December.

The decision on whom is pilot flying for each leg is at the Captain’s discretion. And it is my belief that Restricted ATPs are inherently unsafe as they chose to skip both the regional and corporate worlds; in other words, you need more time to watch because I’m not going to be your IOE instructor. I won’t say you’ll never fly, but for me possible disqualifiers include but are not limited to: winds 5kts or greater, falling precipitation, night-time, mountainous terrain, wake turbulence near large airports, ceilings below 5,000ft, visibility below 10sm, and high traffic congestion. These safety restrictions will remain in effect throughout your probationary year at Frontier.

Thank you for acting as a crutch to a crippled hiring process, we don’t know what we would have done without you.

Seeing as you are double posting, here my reply again:

I can understand your anger and frustration with your current situation. I think it should be aimed mainly at management. I would definitely have taken the opportunity to bypass working a crappy regional or corporate if I could have back in 1999. I think you would have too. If you want to feel better about your job, the only thing IMO would be a different company for you. You can hold reserve on a widebody FO at 3rd year at any legacy, and make more than a 12 year captain at F9. Seniority progession is faster because of more retirement. Maybe your company wasn't a total POS when you joined, but it is now, and guess what, that is not the fault of some clueless 23 year old who is just trying to pay off his massive loan. I was a captain at a company that started hiring frozen ATPLs with 185 hours. Yes, you had to take that into consideration when assigning PF/PNF. Your attitude is wrong and unsafe, treating your fellow crew member like that will ensure he won't be there for you when you need him/her.
