We had right at 850 pilots in the spring of 2015. Now in the third quarter of 2018 we have about 1300. I expect us to grow at pretty much the same rate, despite the propaganda they put out.
So in three and a half years... (counting on hands for the math)... that's a annual net growth of about 130 pilots per year.
So if you are hired today, you would not upgrade until... (taking off socks to do more math)... nearly ten years.
There is no guarantee the "ordered" planes are coming here. There is no guarantee the next recession won't arrest our growth entirely.
Our contract situation has completely stalled; there haven't been mediation sessions for months, and none are scheduled in the future. We did politely ask the NMB to declare an impasse, and they politely said no.
If the company were to accept our current ask tomorrow, we would continue to be the lowest paid A320 pilots out of American, Delta, JetBlue, Spirit, Southwest, and United.
What feels like out of spite, the management at Frontier has canceled all pilot vacations for August. Then they've done it again for September. We'll see about next month. There is plenty of documentation of management's disdain for it's employees- I probably don't need to elaborate here. Suffice to say the work environment is very hostile.
If you still want to come here, we are incredibly thankful to have you. We certainly need good people. But I don't think I could, in good faith, recommend Frontier over any other of the airlines I mentioned above.

Current vacancy closes August 28. If they opened a CA only vacancy (something they've never done in recent months) it would be open until the second week of September. Training wouldn’t be able to start until October.
There are ZERO upgrades planned with supposedly 9 airplanes net gain this year. None of this passes the sniff test.

I’m not sure how you would know, but I hope so. Current upgrade class starts on the 20th. So if what you are saying is true....it shouldn’t be long. I will be honest I’m expecting more canceled vacations instead of an upgrade class. You’ve laid it all out there DENPilot, I wish you luck.

Like I said something has to give, they will eventually have to start investing in the airline. I’m not just talking about us, the whole operation or this place is going to implode. If they don’t, it seems like they would rather sell us. Who the heck knows what is going on.
It’s good though that the facts of employment at F9 are getting out there.
