They recently missed payments and then sold their aircraft to keep the lights on. They have a pile of resumes.

Read the Compass forums, replace "Compass" with "GoJet", and good luck.

new contract with some sort pay raise will be had by end of year... it can’t be dragged out.

Why can't it be dragged out? People don't leave airlines and start over, generally speaking. Why won't GJ just go back to offering 56k bonuses to pilots to come there? Why pay everyone with a new increased pay scale when they can just "offer" the bonus to the new recruits? Heck, when you consider the high % of those that never get the bonus, the actual paid bonus would be what, maybe 20k per recruit?

Very rarely do airlines complete a new contract in a timely manner, not just GJ. But the 2007 GJ Contract ended in 2012 and was not renewed for 4 years, 2016. Why not just use the bonuses for as long as they can?

You wish. Even their binding court cases get dragged out interminably. See this thread:

https://www.airlinepilotforums.com/g...la-appeal.html

An excerpt:

This dispute first arose when Cloutier filed a grievance as- serting FMLA violations pursuant to the “Collective Bargain- ing Agreement” between GoJet and his union. The parties bat- tled in arbitration to no avail. Then turning to the courts, Cloutier initiated this complex lawsuit, suing GoJet for viola- tions of the FMLA and the Americans with Disabilities Act (“ADA”), 42 U.S.C. § 12101 et seq. The jury reached a verdict in Cloutier’s favor, finding GoJet had interfered with his FMLA rights and retaliated against him for exercising his FMLA rights. The district court then granted him back pay, liquidated damages, and front pay.
Their lawyers are going to be better and more numerous than your lawyers. And they will demand to arbitrate the terms of the arbitration - then demand to arbitrate that. If they aren’t going to follow FEDERAL LAW what makes you think they are going to honor a civil contract?

For the time spent in St Louis for training is it worth having your car or is the hotel in walking distance to restaurants, groceries etc?
