So.....explain to me how we can fly with eyeglasses.

As with the other gentleman, please feel free to demonstrate how European or Middle East O2 masks form a perfect seal over a beard that will not allow ANY toxic smoke to enter. It takes very little smoke to incapacitate a person, even trace amounts slipping through the porous seal between a bearded face and a mask are all that are needed.

Here is a clue... facial masks can work with facial hair!

As a former firefighter I would not want to put my life at risk for sake of having a “neatly trimmed beard”, as a pilot I refuse to gamble the lives in the back on it.
This myth has been refuted several times.

Here you go. They tested guys with WAIST LENGTH BEARDS and they still passed.

Now......do you REALLY think that Canadian and European and ME aviation authorities just woke up one day and decided to allow it?
Especially EASA is tightly regulated and I mean diamond in a goats @ss tightly regulated.
They’ve also dropped the O2 req above FL250 by the way...OH THE HORROR!!!!
And Diet Coke causes cancer according to the State of California.

Congrats Einstein, you successfully ignored everything I said and knee jerked to your well rehearsed stock response. You will note that I never once mentioned a lack of oxygen delivery due to beards, what I clearly stated was the lack of seal in a smoke event.

Feel free at any time to post an actual response regarding facial seal during smoke events and how a bearded individual can seal well enough to keep the toxic smoke from entering. Any example of a professional fire department allowing their firefighters to enter a working fire with beards would also suffice.

I’ll hang up and listen to your response.

You obviously didn’t read the study. They simulated smoke conditions.
