Looks like the good folks at HAL are doing some kind of housekeeping. TBNT letters from requisitions prior to just this last req seem to be getting sent out. Just had a buddy receive one from a req several years ago. Also have been hearing that there may be a revamp to the interview process!?!? Dear Hawaiian Baby Jesus, please let this year be the year.....

I just received 2 tbnt emails from Hawaiian sent a minute apart. I haven't applied in about a year and am no longer interested but I think I'll keep applying to see how many tbnt emails I can get. They've probably sent me 5 or 6 in the past four years.

Not saying that I know of any window opening, but IMO something is triggering them actually taking the time to send emails. And they are revamping the interview process.. That I do know 100%. Not yet sure what is being revamped, but I think they are going about it a little more "professional" than before. |
Maybe they are thinning out the remaining pool to just a few that may be called last minute should something pop up. A friend did not get an email today, so hopefully he has a chance!
I was previously called for Phase 3 after they had already began interviewing for the last app window. (the one we are getting the emails for) Unfortunately I couldnt make it due to illness... I even had my airline flight set...now I sit here 2 years later and still nothing....UUGGHHHH!!!! So honestly you never know with Hawaiian. I would be out there tomorrow if they called now! |
No email for me today, guess I'm still swimming. Interviewed Fall of 2012. But I know someone who was hired there over two years ago and he got a letter. Go figure.
|
No tbnt email here, but, I did just get an email that said Aloha! If you received a TBNT email, please disregard...
|
I also received no TBNT email but did get oops email below:
Aloha (first name here), A recent clean-up of our Recruitment Application Database has resulted in auto email rejection notifications to various individuals. Please disregard any automated rejection notification received 5/19/14. We apologize for any confusion and appreciate your understanding as we address this situation. Mahalo, Human Resources |
Got the TBNT email last night, then this morning got the disregard the rejection email. Well, guess it's not as bad as the email from Sue back in 2012 with an invite for an interview followed by a, please disregard the invite....
|
Unfortunately this seems like a fairly common occurrence at HA. I think it happens atleast once a year.. It's 2014, but somehow we haven't figured out the email thing yet...
If pilots screwed up as much as other people at other jobs, airplanes would fall out of the sky atleast once a day! |
I got a TBNT email last night. It has been years since I applied at HAL, and have not updated my stuff there. No follow up email this morning.
|
No hey we sent out the wrong email email in my box today. Maybe mine was real. I did get an email back in Dec or Jan of 2012/2013 that was similar yet the wording made it sound like I wasnt selected for a Phase 1 interview even though I had already completed it. I hope it was a mistake but I am leaning towards no!
|
I got two emails, thanks but no thanks, and one email today saying those were sent in error....even though they already hired me! I'd say something is wrong with the computers.
|
Aloha bros. I am making this my number one target in the future. I can't wait to live out there and fly off the islands! I will do everything I can to get a job at HA. I'm hoping with upcoming shortage that things will move faster than it has. Planning on jumps eating on HA plenty to get some Ohana. Peace.

I just got the 'oops' email.
|
I just got both emails also and I haven't applied again since 2010. It's kind of comical.
|
Got the emails as well. What an absolute joke of an operation.
|
Hawaiian's not my style of airline... but they're a "joke" because of a computer glitch? I hope that's supposed to be the joke.

I'd suggest learning to communicate on the forums like an educated professional would be a step in the right direction. I seriously read this and picture a 20-something with baggy pants, underwear hanging out, cap on sideways. Not exactly the mental image I think you really want.

I basically wouldn't trust him to watch water boil.

Hey, I am chill and laid back. I'm probably the most laid back captain in my domicile! It's just one of those "things" that irritates me when people speak or communicate in a way that makes you wonder how they got through high school English classes. |
I would like to fly with Hawaiian Airlines. I have ten years combined at Mesa and Skywest with over 1000 hours PIC. I have visited Hawaii several times. I have dreams of building a boat and traveling between the islands fishing and diving. Maybe Hawaiian Airlines would like to hire a pilot like me.

Hawaiian is hiring a ground instructor. This could be good for someone wanting to get back out to the islands or something but as an FYI guys that have done this in the past have waited a long time to get hired as a pilot and then not given any seniority consideration.
|
Ok, I got the 'Sorry for the bad email' email too.

Amazingly, the plane never leaves without me....except for my commute, sucks when I show late at the gate and miss my commute. |

Sounds like you labeled yourself laid back.. kinda like giving yourself your own nickname... Either way, that is not being laid back, it's wasting other peoples time. Especially those who made the effort only to have it wasted by you... And for an airline who has led on time performance for 10 straight years, it appears our airline has done a good job of hiring. Because it appears we don't hire guys like you who show up late.. And it's pretty peculiar that a guy who thinks HA is a joke, has so many posts on this thread., |

Uhhh.... I never said HA was a joke. Not sure where you got that. And the previous post about being late to the van, etc. was meant to be humorous....think SoCal surfer dude taking "laid back" to the extreme so to speak. Obviously tone of voice doesn't transmit. Oh well, flame away. I know what kind of person I am to fly with, based on what my FO's and FA's tell me. Yes, once in a while I probably get on someone's nerves, but for the most part I'm pretty laid back and go out of my way to foster good working relationships and make the 3-4 days away from as fun as it can be for my crews.
All of this because I made a comment about the English "skillz" of another poster? Lol, and you all think I'm uptight? |

It's all good, there are those who want to be here, and those who are already here.... I fall in the latter category.. So I really couldn't care less how laid back or late any one is to the van... Or how awesome someone might be to fly with... By the time I've left the airplane I've already forgotten the last 2-3 days no matter how awesome they were. |
KingAir, I'm sorry, but that was not me. I think you have me mistaken. I have never deleted a post. I really want to work at HA. I was emailed three rules in 2012 to set up an interview, but I had to turn all three invites down because of the death of my father-in-law after a long battle with cancer and the death of my wife's grandmother a month prior to her dad passing. Respectfully, I think you have me confused with another person's postings.
|
*emailed three TIMES....damn phone autocorrects whatever it wants. I don't even know how to edit that post, let alone delete one!

I apologize... It was surfski who called it a joke of an operation. Please accept my apology.... I got a tad bit offended when someone, who doesn't work here, called it a joke of an operation, and I jumped the gun when I thought it was you. Too many posts in the last few days to keep track of who said what.... Since I thought it was you I went back a few pages looking for your post, and since it wasn't you who said it I thought you had deleted it. |
Not a joke of an operation, just a joke of a hiring process.
