In an earlier post, you mentioned that you are 46 years old (if I remember correctly). Time to get off the fence and make a move.
Regarding the "Which regional to go to?" question, there's no right or wrong answer. It sounds like you're considering Compass, Horizon, and Skywest. I think any of these would be a reasonable choice for the next couple of years. All of these companies pay "about" the same, so pick the one that will allow you to live in base (or a very minimal commute). Don't try to over-analyze or second guess your decision. Just pick one, work there a couple of years, and then get on with a major.
Best wishes, Dash

Horizon will never merge with Alaska, but I'm starting to think that a flow-through is increasingly likely. Air Group management has now replaced our VP of Flight Operations, Chief Pilot, and Director of Flight Training with Alaska personnel. I'm not exactly sure how I feel about this. I never cared much for our home-grown Horizon managers, but the new team needs to tread carefully to avoid alienating the senior Horizon employees (and not just the pilots).
In general, I dislike flow-though deals. They're just another system to keep regional pilots working for poverty wages.
The latest message from management also indicated that they were going to spend the next few months ramping up the training department, and expected any further growth to start in late 2018 (!). Looks like another busy holiday season for those of us on reserve.
