Southwest was FAR behind their peers until the bankruptcies after September 11th. Other airlines came DOWN to what Southwest was paying. And if you worked at Southwest in the late 90's, it was because you had too many DUI's to be called by United. Southwest's rates were sub par until they passed their recent contract.
UPS? They're a trucking company that uses airplanes to move some freight. They're pay very well so they can treat you very poorly.
American? Great seniority progression, no work rules. Ok pay rates.
United doesn't have a business model, and their CEO was lambasted during their last earnings call and their stock dropped 12% in one day. What is that? A $2 billion loss of value in one day?
Delta is doing fine, but they've hired 3,000 pilots in the last few years. That's 21% of their seniority list assuming there's no contraction over there. Maybe it works out and they keep hiring, maybe you end up on the back end of the hiring wave like the double United furloughees in the 2000's.
FedEx seems legit but they're only retiring half their list in the near future. Great pay rates, and a pension.
JetBlue ain't no Shangri-La, but if you think this place is horrible and every other airline is amazing, you're deluding yourself.
If that's what you're into, then have at it, hoss.

Do you ever visit those other boards? UPS is especially toxic...despite being one of the highest compensated aviation jobs on the planet. They're all the same. Always 5 or so folks that just run the place down and all the hopeful applicants constantly. I work for a crap ACMI operator. Some of the folks I work with are just happy as clams. Some think it'll be great just as soon as a a new CBA is in place. Some want to punch you in the face for just showing up to work. I have friends at American that think it's absolutely the worst job they've ever had. I have friends at JetBlue that are perfectly happy. And every range of opinions in between. So like me, I'm sure that these guys are applying to every airline that they could see themselves having a successful career at. Maybe today JetBlue is at the bottom of that list of airlines. Maybe in two years it would be #1 or 2? Who knows? Who's gonna call first? This industry is so unpredictable and cyclical.....and at some point you just have to slide your chips across the table and walk away.
Here's the deal though. Every job sucks. And we're all just trying to cover our nut (STS).

So we have established our pay is pretty much bottom for our peers, in what ways do we make up for that exactly?

What's JetBlue got? The same thing Southwest had in the 1990's; just a place that wasn't American, with sub par pay, domestic only flying and a whole heap of clapped out small narrow body aircraft.
Turned out ok for Southwest pilots, probably turns out ok for us.
And believe me hoss, I'm FAR from an optimist. I've been kicked in the teeth too many times in this industry to believe in fairy tales. That being said, when I read through the financial reports I'm optimistic about the opportunity that exists. If it goes the other way, it goes the other way, but I'm going to wait for that to happen before I crap my pants.

We've been through this, so I won't rehash growth vs retirement, the relationship between the two, and how airlines have used retirements to shrink airlines.

All we KNOW is our pay is lowest of our peers by a lot. And no widebodies. And very few retirements. And growth can evaporate in a nanosecond.
Did I miss anything we know for sure?

And we are in the end-stages of a negotiating process that has moved at lightning speed for a first contract to get back to parity. You seem to forget that it wasn’t that long ago that all of those places negotiated a new contract.

I just take issue with "end-stages". They can still drag end-stages out a long time if they want.

So back to the subject at hand, has anyone broken the code on how to get your application accepted?? Someone recommended that I upload my resume with the documents at the end, but whenever I try to upload a document there I get an "Invalid Document Name" message. Some people are able to get their's accepted.
