This.

We showed the company exactly who we are with LOA17. We are a cheap date.

Minimal pay bump with a signing bonus will be the company play.
The “coming recession” will be the angle

hopefully our mec will grow a pair and tell them to shove that offer so far up themselves and declare a labor dispute before the holidays.

And then beat their chests for 8 months, telling us how they’re fighting to get us what we really deserve… 1% more than the company’s initial offer. Winning.

That's the union leadership, I'm asking what he thinks this pilot group is actually going to do about a labor dispute?

Maybe some of this group learned from the last go-around, but there are also 1,000 pilots who weren't even here for the last negotiations.

Of course they should declare a labor dispute immediately if the counteroffer isn't serious and substantial, I just fail to see the teeth in that declaration with such a passive group.

I missed that, but good point. How do 1000 kids who know nothing other than fast advancement and generous raises perform in a labor dispute? I guess that will depend mostly on their Captains.

Just remember: seek to educate them, not to, ya know, be a blustery knowitall. I don’t need another “no what you dont understand is…!!!” captain in my life ever again.
