I would think that JFK320 FO would have less flexibility than you may think......While some of the other bases and seats are crazy overstaffed (JFK320CA for instance), JFK320FO is not one of them, with most days in the red for reserve numbers which could lead to limited flexiblity.

Lots of senior people bid short call reserve in LA because you don't fly as much, espedially during the shoulder periods like now. Right now, 3 weeks into the month, most people have between 0 and 30 hours of block with the average being about 18 block I'd say. Guarantee is 75 hours for reserves.

I haven't had that experience, but I only had LC right after OE due to not being able to bid in that month. I'm kind of looking forward to LC again, but wondering what I don't know.

I bid Long Call occasionally. It's fuçking great, if you know how to bid. I barely work. I almost...almost got bored for a moment the other day having not touched the plane in a month. Then the sharp metallic sound of a beer opening snapped me out of it.
