On the 1st of the month after you've completed 30days with the company

When coverage begins/ends. ? Life is Better in Blue

If you're hired April 15th then coverage would begin June 1st.

Any idea how long the wait is to re-apply after the call and subsequent TBNT email?

Default What is DFT? (got my first hard line for May)

If you do that, CS has to call and offer you a trip before they give it to a reserve pilot. You can turn down the trip, so don't be afraid to answer the phone for free of being required to take the trip.

On a side note, if you see a trip disappear from open time you would have liked to fly, check and see if it was assigned to a reserve pilot. Sometimes CS forgets to call the RTF guys. If that was the case, you will be pay protected for that trip also.

To answer your original question....if they do call and you accept a trip over a DFT, you will get paid for both trips (the one you got DFTd, and the one you fly)

Good luck.
What is DFT, and VDA and RTF exactly? (How do they work and how are they paid?) Just got off reserve for May. Thanks

DFT. Is dropped for training or something like that... IOE...

VDA volunteer day off

Rtf request to fly.

Dft is pay protected so free days off..

Others paid if you fly.

Thanks for the answer bunker.

What felt said above. There's also a difference between dft and rtf. You can double dip on both, but I think dft you're still on the hook formthe trip until 0700 day prior. Rft you can pick up on top rightnaway. I made 42 hrs out of a mco-nas turn once.

Read up on your FSM especially the pay section. Not trying to be a d!ck...seems like duh capt obvious But knowledge is the key to making max pay or keeping your days off in tact when the company starts getting creative.

Friend of mine got the TBNT after the phone screen too. No idea on the time to reapply, however, I would in the next window. It is likely a year or six months.

For those who didn't make it past the phone screen...what kind of questions were asked? Anything besides verification of flight times and skeletons? Was it strictly an HR person conducting the phone call?
