Phase II emails being sent out for 5/24 interview group! Logistical question- what happens if you're out on a long trip when they send the packet to your address? I know we're all pilots so this must be an issue that happens more often than not.

Phase II is a phone call from the head of hiring followed by an email containing the required documents needed before beginning training, at least this was the case in 2014.

Sorry dude, I didn't really answer your question in my last post. What I meant to include is that I was on a long trip when the head of hiring called to inform me I made it past phase II for training. She understands we're constantly flying and just asked me to get the documents to her when I returned home.

I think checking other boxes like doing recruiting, management, training dept, and attending job fairs while working on your degree would be better than going to a LCC. But who knows...that's just the impression I've got from talking to various airlines (JB included) at job fairs. I personally wouldn't reset my QOL/seniority/pay to go to allegiant/spirit/etc just to get a fresh type and bigger airplane time (if I didn't want to stay at one of those places forever). I'd continue to get CA pay and PIC time, enjoy your accrued seniority, and hit up job fairs when you can. Plenty of regional captains getting hired here. I also wouldn't want to risk a bust at a new LCC. Not likely, but a consideration. I think the stagnation applies to people who haven't had a training event in greater than 5 years, i.e. those who got stuck in the lost decade, had an airline with a seat lock, etc. If you are just now getting to 1k pic, you probably don't fall into that category and are fine.
That said, if there is a LCC that you'd be happy working at the rest of your life and where your QOL would be similar or better than it is now, I'd rather get a seniority number there in the event my desired airline never calls. I'd rather get "stuck" at an LCC than a regional for 20-30 years if JB never called, or if the interview didn't go well.

I asked the same question during the interview and they said to just get it in as soon as you can. They understand we are busy and flying.

Thanks for the replies! I've been applying there for about 3 years now. I'm a bit short on time for their liking right now but I've been active volunteering in and outside of my airline. I spoke with them at WAI and OBAP and think I impressed them. I've got time to build so I'm trying to figure out ways to make myself more appealing in the meantime. I'm trying for LCA before I make any big moves. Just throwing ideas around. Thanks again for the feedback!
Good for you for staying positive.
While some people get hired here quickly, the vast majority apply for several years before getting the call. They do look and see how often and how long you have applied. Keep applying, going to job fairs, and try to become a LCA and you will likely hear something!
Good luck!

If JetBlue is where you want to be, don't give up. They want to see persistence and it will pay off in the long run.
Good luck and keep trying!

For those of you who just interviewed on 5/24, did they provide any further insight as to whether or not the written assessment is being used for consideration purposes? From what I have been told from the guys at ECIC it's not currently weighing on the decision to proceed to phase II...
