Even if we get a good contract this place is still JetBlue... It will always be place where pilots are expected to:
1. Clean the aircraft
2. Share the crew room with other work groups
3. Be a part of the worst operation in the industry (dead last for on-time performance)
4. Be at mercy of leadership that has no clear direction
5. Work for a company that always is trying to "reinvent the wheel" with mostly poor results
6. Be a part the "fake" culture that is nothing more than a facade
7. Stay at the subpar airport hotel on a 24 hour caribbean layover
8. Be trained by Sim instructors with zero line expierence
The list can go on for a while but you get the idea.

All my instructors had line experience – they ranged from so-so to excellent wrt to instructing ability – but all had line experience. I did meet one Airbus instructor who was a recent retiree from the legacies…last flew the Airbus – so he didn’t have JB line experience but I’d bet he has something to offer with his experience.
Also, cleaning aircraft – I don’t / sharing the crew room – could care less / Caribbean layover – it’s 30 degrees where I am now, doesn’t sound horrible
I don’t doubt these things bug you but idk……I really just want to get paid / work rules, that’s about it.

1. I get it. QOL for me is more important too. It's why I'm a 14+ year FO. Do you still commute or do you now live in base? A commute is a commute. And you never know what JB's WC expansion plan ends looking like.
2. The $ Million question. My guess is sooner than later. I suspect the company would like to close just before the next round of airline negotiations open back up. Our negotiators aren't dumb and see that as well. It would make zero sense to agree to a contract, only to have it outdated for 80% of its life.
3. As you say, to each their own. The long-standing statement is true: "You never know if you made the right decision until the day you retire, look back and review your career."
Big picture is, you made a decision you thought was right for you and your family. I hope it works out for you.

Just let the guy enjoy his new airline, no reason to give him a hard time.

Mad props to Slimothy... I wish you the best and applaud your gracious attitude towards B6. You’re a prime example of what’s going to happen to the FO corps this year, and the loss of pilots like you will be felt. As a relatively junior LGB FO, I worry constantly about the future of the base. Reserve FOs on the west coast are already being utilized to the max, and it’s barely April. This summer is going to be a raging dumpster fire. In the absence of a LEGIT CBA, we are going to see a watershed exodus to the majors. West coast open time consists ENTIRELY of redeye flights, with the occasional “good deal” daytime SFO turn. If you choose to come here, as I did proudly, wear your lanyard, follow union guidelines, and update your apps. Seriously, this place has AMAZING potential, but it’s going to take solidarity and adherence to SOP to make it real. It may never be the culture-loving B6 of yore, but it can hopefully be great none the less. This pilot group makes JetBlue what it is... Don’t cheapen it by bowing to the pressures of those that drink from the company trough. Be positive and support each other. I believe in my MEC and rock my lanyard proudly. Looking forward to the next rally.

It's funny you were at the meeting. They said nothing about what you just said. Can you not understand English?
Please don't do us a disservice........just Tow the LINE!!!! and quit making things up to prop up your narrative.
I go to the meetings so I can inform others. Put the unicorn down! and just inform others of what happened and not make stuff up which you tend to do daily on here....

2. So what. How much of your life is spent here. This really a go-no go decision for you?
3. Our OTP sucks right now. No doubt about it. Not my problem. And these tend to ebb and flow. We're worst today. Will we stay there? Who knows. Do I give a sh1t? Nope. Not my problem. As long as my check cashes every 8th/20th, I don't care.
4. Ask AA, UA and even SW pilots what they think about their leadership direction. Especially during labor disputes. You think you'll hear much different than you do with JB? Doubt it.
5. The only reason this ****es me off is because they try and say they can't afford our contract requests, which we all know is BS. If our salary and PS isn't affected with our new CBA, that's white noise I couldn't care less about.
6. Who gives a F about what the culture the company is trying to peddle? Seriously? I go to work. I fly. I go home. Everything else is complete BS and crap I couldn't care about any less.
7. Hotel standards are already TAd. You don't think the quality will improve from what we have now? Seriously? Or are you just trying to come up with reasons to stay mad.
8. Pretty sure JB isn't the only company that does this.
So yeah, I disagree that "This will always be a place pilots are expected to" premise.

"The remainder of the sections still require open items to be resolved, some of which we remain significantly apart on."
I said "far" apart, I guess I should have said "significantly" apart. Can you not understand English?
Speaking of the English language, the expression is "Toe the line".

Wow, that sounds pretty good to me man. Thanks for the breakdown too, interesting to see. I'd be curious to get your impression of how SWA reserve compares to ours when you get there. I've heard you get worked more but there is more predictability, etc.? But I have no idea really...cheers
