New hire here...got the call on Thursday, interviewed last Tuesday (with min prep d2 drill weekend in between), start in two weeks.

I had heard through the grape vine that a new contract signing was imminent (I saw on the APC main profile page that the union voted for a strike, but those are often out-dated; thought you guys were way past that). Figured it was better to get in on the front end of the wave.

I just stumbled upon this thread today and spent hours catching up. Didn't realize what a ****-show I was walking in to...and I already put in my two-weeks notice at a job with better pay (even over the proposed numbers) and great medical. Might have tried harder to delay my class date if I knew I was going to be unemployed after the sim.

<sigh>...the stupid things we do to fly.

That apc profile page has said that for while now. Although I think they just updated some other stuff on it Today. From what I have read it's gonna be a while if it goes to strike....

Lighten up Francis, I show him the same respect he shows for us which is basically zero and even more so after his childish and condescending email chain with me a few months back. You may not have respect for me but I do for you and your work in training. Peace and out.

Don't sweat it at this point.... EVEN if it came to that... it wouldn't last likely last very long. I don't know about imminent but the next week will be very telling.

First thing, congrads on the new job! It's not as bad as many guys on here make it out to be. I've been here with the company for a long time so I'm pretty educated about the stupidity here. Just keep in mind that the heavy bashers of the company probably don't work here, or they did and they hated it. They show up on here to bash the company and at the same time insult us that are still here. Makes you wonder why they come back on here to talk their **** if it's so much better where they are now.

Keep a positive attitude and things will go much better here. Though in my opinion, I wouldn't plan on staying. Too many questions about the future of the company, hence, your future. Ride it out till you find something better.

I'm not a union pro but I'd venture to bet that we'll be flying for a long while before there's a work stoppage but definitely keep an eye out for something better. Connie has a way to drag things out. Just my opinion. Good luck and try to enjoy it!

Congrats buddy! Come to the light twin... best kept secret at the company.

Hopefully they get it done next week or we're going to binding arbitration and thats a crap shoot. Not a chance this liberal administration will release an airline to self help.

But..... The Dems are supposed to be labor friendly. ALPA endorsed Obama and will undoubtedly endorse the "see you next time".

there will never be binding arbitration... both sides would have to agree and thats not happening.

The NMB has to grant the proffer first. They can sit on it indefinitely. With or without the NMB, K4 needs this done or it will implode. Remember Evergreen?

The union already requested the proffer.
