With all the pilots on the street now, are there a lot of major and other regional pilots getting on with Gojets? What are the opinions of pilots that are furloughed that go there? Are they the same as the original folks that went to Gojets?

seeing as how they are still hiring (and supposedly getting airplanes, although i don't know about that), and we (trans states) are furloughing and downgrading and displacing, yet we're both under the same holding company and trans states pilots should be flying those planes to begin with, i still feel disgust toward anyone that goes there, furloughed or not. thats just my opinion, not looking to argue with anyone about it either.

GoJets may not be the airline of choice for allot of you but at least its keeping food on the table and a roof over the heads of our brothers and their families, when things get better allot of the people at GoJets might move on to something better….they might not want to be at GoJets but hey…family comes first!…..that’s my opinion, I would do the same for my family.

But hey, that's ok! Only 120 guys (or more) are losing their jobs at Trans States and none of them could possibly have families to look out for [sarcasm].

Think before you speak AirTrucker, that way I don't have to school you on current events

I'm making more working retail than I would at GJ. I'm sorry, but there are lots of other ways to put food on the table and that $20k isn't going to go very far anyway.

AirTrucker, there's more to life than flying. Working for less and undercutting your brothers and sisters isn't reallly doing much to help.

Well, I did think. Let me see current loss of jobs.... Trans States (I will give that to you Carl) Comair, Commute Air, Gemini, COA, United, AirTran, Aloha, ATA, EOS, SKY Bus, Express Jet, Frontier, Midwest, Spirit, USA3000, MESA, Air Wisconsin, SKy Way, PSA, ABX, Air Net, Trade Winds....That’s just off the top of my head, I could be wrong on some but there could be more or less. I bet all of those guys are doing what they can to get jobs (including TS) to help out there families. My point is Carl is that there is nothing wrong with doing what you have to do to support your family in hard times! I figured I would get flamed for my comment but that’s ok, its my opinion and that’s the only thing that matters to me.

Right, there is absolutely nothing wrong with doing what you have to do to support your family, but going to GoJet is just plain wrong. I believe that pilots should stop fighting pilots, but I do not believe that anyone, for any reason, should work for GoJet. And if they do, they are willingly (knowing or not) helping management screw honest pilots.

There are plenty of alternatives to flying for GoJet. Get a job at Home Depot, Sam's Club, in construction, go back to school, get an instructor job. Do anything else but work for GoJet.

It's a lot like the Ford Model T: You can have it in any color you want, as long as it's black.

Same goes for jobs and supporting your family: You can have any job you want, as long as it's NOT for GoJet.

As an employer myself and seeing what the job market is....a job is a job right now. You are lucky yourself to have found a job. I myself do not agree with the management style that Go Jet has and if jobs where abundant I would be agreeing with you and others to not work at GO Jets! I have a strong feeling that when things take off, Go Jet might find themselves hard up for pilots. Who knows if the guys at Go Jet (who are their cuz they where laid off) would even find a retail job or any other job. Pilotpip, retail is just as worse or worse then the airlines are when it comes to job loss. In no way am I saying that you should not of found a job in retail, you did what you had to do and I respect you for that. Right now people are in survival mode, the economy is in the tanks and might even get worse. In the business I am in this will be our second year with no holiday peak season for shipping! We where starting to see the signs of a weak economy a year ago. I have a guy that’s does not want to be away from his family, but he has had no luck finding a job. So he is making a sacrifice and being away from them three weeks at a time! Its rough out there and I respect people who are doing what they can to survive!
