Purp! you have only 71 or less flight hours. Glad you're here, but why would going to GoJet hurt your career? I'm curious to know.

Think before you speak AirTrucker, that way I don't have to school you on current events
So you're saying that furloughed employees at TSA should have the right to take over GoJet? If Gojet is just a branch of TSA they why is the pay not as low as, for example, Lynx Aviation? Many, many pilots are on furlough. Let no one forget that. TSA pilots are not alone!

No, what I am saying is that TSA and GoJet should be on one list. We all work for the same company, just under two different banners. I just want us to be on one seniority list. Give me that and I'll be as happy as a pig in mud.

Regardless of your views of GoJet, if a furloughed TSA pilot wants to interview at GoJet, then they should be considered over the rest of the yokels out there.

I'm not sure what point you're trying to make, but once you get past the flight departments, GoJet and Trans States Airlines share office personell. Basically, outside of a few people, GoJet is staffed with just enough people to be considered a separate airline by the FAA.

Well, if you do take a job there then you ARE in fact promoting the management practices. We can agree or disagree on many things but there is no doubt that each and every Gojet pilot hired has "promoted the practices of Gojet management" by simply getting hired - simply put they let the management win their case...

I am no longer a regional pilot and I realize it's 'easy for me' to have an opinion since the TSA/Gojet situation doesn't directly affect me. However, in my view, when a company violates an agreement with the union by creating an alter-ego "company within a company" then the whole idea of belonging to a union pretty much goes out the window. The only purpose of Gojet's existence is so management could avoid having to deal with TSA's union...

Why would the management for any airline want to follow a contract when it's so much simpler to create a 'separate' company and impose the rules on it's employees?

Note - by no means am I a union fanatic however, I think the idea of TSA pilots being furloughed while Gojet keeps hiring is very distasteful to the least. It also proves that pilots will always be their own worst enemies.

Fire away...

Alright Captain and Crust,

I am getting laid off at my 135 opp. And I am looking at all my options and GoJet looks to be "decent". I just want to know from all of you talkers out there, if I get to wear a GoJet uniform, how many of you will try to take me on. Seriously, some of you are saying you will go that far. We are all pilots going through the same thing. And hey, I'm competitive and willing to do what it takes to secure my future.

Oh man purpleanga...tried to settle this already...need I remind you (AGAIN) that my random guy is a 53 year old captain on a 747-400...not too random. AND a captain on a 777...not too random..also, Management AND H/R from NWA...once again...not too random. Yes, they are providing me with advice, and I am passing it along to the people that are considering going to gojet. It's NOT a career ender.

Face it...most major airlines really don't care what happened at your last regional...H/R will look for PIC time and get you an interview...the chief pilots are going to be older on the interview board, so they will likely not even think twice about gojet.
