The concept of a fair SLI is when everyone is mad (so I've been told) - the result - a bunch of mad people. It won't be a pleasant working environment when we are ****ed off. Sorry to say it.

The nice thing is that you represent the minority of your fellow pilots, judging by a lot of my interactions with them since the "Announcement". I'm really not going to get in a ****ing contest with you or anyone else here about it. It'll go to arbitration, both of our MCs will make their cases, and the chips will fall where they may. Then I'll move on. Cheers.

BTW, the only ones that are going to "ruin your culture" people like you. We're thrilled to have the chance to work under a culture that rewards its employees for their efforts instead of flogging them for more. Trust me, if the culture gets ruined (which it won't), it won't be because fo the AirTran pilots. Now back to your regularly scheduled schitty attitude.

Judging from the response my post got on our private web board maybe I do.

Didn't mean to **** that many people off. Sorry. Was just an off-the-cuff observation.

You're not going to get into a p$%%ing contest? Really? Sounds like you're already pretty deep into one.

Thanks Whackmaster, I always know you can throw out some insight. It seems a lot of the guys who have the huge problem with this is the prior Mil guys who believed the first day of training when SWA told them they were the most important customer and if they weren't happy, then SWA wasn't doing their job. The company should have grown organically to put them back in charge of airplanes like they belong. I'm a mil guy myself and had fellow members of my "unit" question my quals, even though I was more qual'ed than them but may not match their "culture" of I used my GI Bill to pay for a part of my type. Take a look back prior to 9/11/2001, how many guys were telling all others to pound sand for SWA? it's all cyclical. We are all professional pilots and should treat each other as such. It's all out of our hands guys.

Hey Whackmaster, I think I fly with a lot more SWA guys than those who you interact with. I'm just saying, the culture will be shot if any 6 year Air Tran Capt gets to keep his seat over a 10 year SWA FO. That's the majority opinion over here. I'm not sure who you are talking to, but they may be delusional.

It would be very rare for a arbitrators award to force someone out of the seat they hold at the merger. It can happen over time especially if a airline is reducing flying but if your stable or growing I would expect all the Airtran Captains will keep their seat.

There goes my point. SWA will be a very different place to work at if this happens. I'm just sayin'.... Not trying to be negative, just being realistic; judging from what I'm hearing on the line.

Talk about delusional. EVERY SLI starts with "no bump/no flush." That means unless the AAI guys bid out of their seats/base they get to keep the seat they have.

Your attitude reflects the greed of the SWA pilot group just as a straight ratio award reflects the greed of the AAI pilot group.

Exactly right. I expect the final SLI will look something like this:

1. No bump/no flush
2. Pre-1993 SWA Captains on the list
3. Ratio the rest.
4. Iron out any bumps in the lower end of the list.

This is so simple even a Government arbitrator can do it.

Everything will work out fine as long as the SWA guys act like DAL/NWA pilots and not like USAir Easties.
