Because with out Airtran, SWA would have never been able to grow or fly out of Texas.

Really? Air Tran pilots didn't have to interview? Wow. Some of you guys represent SWA pilots in a really poor light.

WOW is right, sorry I didn't break down the obvious, interview at SWA... There do you understand now? Done posting, got dragged into this bs too much, best luck to everyone. Hopefully SWA will continue to be a place I enjoy going to work until I retire.

No. I knew what you meant. It's pretty derogatory to imply that a pilot who works for an airline should have to interview with another airline his company merges with. Mergers bring out the worst in people. Hopefully, when it's over and you guys have a couple of beers together, you both will realize you are the same. Take care and good luck.

But now, the SWA guys will have the opportunity to fly an airplane that was NEVER in their expectations... the 717... so who's getting a windfall again?

How did the Airtran career expectations change on Sept 27th?
Other than pay and maybe some work rules..minor contractual differences.. not one bit.

Yeah, not a thing like a group that would staple another group just because they make less $... AND take their airplanes to boot.

And all joking aside, it is a cool airplane, or at least I've thought so riding both in front and in back.
