"If" and when you guys grow, it wont be due to your Pilot compensation model.
Are you a Pilot or a general employee? You have over 15000 employees. You don't have to concern yourself with the compensation levels of the remaining 12500 lesser trained employees. Why don't you Pilots negotiate industry standard compensation? I don't know how many E190 drivers you have. Seems like it may only be 1700 Airbus guys who need a raise? And, you think this would stop the Airline in it's tracks?
You "are" a Pilot aren't you????
Or, are you? You don't seem to be on the side of Pilots.

The 2500 pilots at JB probably make more combined than the other 12500 grunt workers, so our comp is very significant.
Our company recently slowed our growth rate for an mx increase of 31 million. That is a drop in the bucket compared to the increase in pilot costs some of these guys are demanding....
For how many DECADES before 9-11 did SW make less than industry standard? Start-up airlines make less than legacy airlines for A LONG TIME. Period.
Got it?

Let's see, I'm pro union and want a pay raise. I think that makes me pro-pilot. I am also pro-growth, which PILOTS are the primary beneficiary of. Still pro-pilot.

If you believe your company slowed growth due to mx alone, you are very much in the dark.

I am not trying to help your cause... you guys failed yourselves... I've told my union not to spend anymore dues money on you people.
The furloughed guys were at least getting medical, through mutual aid. Valid point... you were making a paycheck... we'll see how the JB business plan works for you guys. take a look at historical start ups.... you are not SWA.....
You make that because of market forces and union wages.
You have no voice in your employment and no political voice in govt. A political voice for safety or pay/benefits. You have no professional status. You don't serve the public good with a safety structure, accident investigation, etc... You've no code of ethics.... you show up, work, go home. When your told, were you are told, how you are told.
If you got bought or merged you pilots will be voiceless, stapled and screwed. With a little union precedence and law to help you out.
Good luck.

He will realize that he represents the airline to all who meet him and will at all times keep his personal appearance and conduct above reproach
Now do you think your conduct of call pilots names on here is above reproach?
This one is even better.
An Air Line Pilot will conduct his affairs with other members of the profession and with ALPA in such a manner as to bring credit to the profession and ALPA as well as to himself.
That is really all I have to say,and since I am not in ALPA anymore (dues paying member 7.5 years and a committee volunteer for over 5) and you said we are not professionals. I fell very comfortable saying you are a TOOL.

You have 100% confirmed what I suspected all along.
As the song goes; "I spent so much time believing all the lies to keep the dream alive".
God help you dude. God help you!

Hilarious when guys try to use the coe on a anon message board... you guys really are low class....
What makes you professional? Lav/cabin cleaning?
Define professional... the thing is you don't have the backing of a union to enforce safety and the public interest. We have a hard enough doing that with a union against a corporation.... why not save your yourself the dues money and enjoy the DR.
If company wants to coerce you into doing something... the direct relationship works both ways....
Good Luck...

Now why don't you leave us "clowns" alone and go worry about United stuff.
