Speaking of people leaving and health care, for those of u that think JB is the monster and the only one that will be affected by Hussein obamas masterpiece... Health care is going to hit everyone. Unions may not pay more today, but will pay tomorrow. I am not saying JB insurance is ok by any means. Please don't think I am saying that. Management is passing the cost to its employees here. A CBA can slow it down in my opinion.. But I do not believe it will stop the rising cost unless this country stops the administration..

It's funny that the company that preaches "culture" has the worst insurance of any major airline yet the horible ALPA carrier has the best.

"Like many large companies, Delta faces significantly increased healthcare costs in 2014 and beyond," the company said in a statement on Friday. "Delta will absorb the vast majority of those increased costs so that we can continue providing a high value, high quality health plan. Consistent with our culture, Delta will always keep the best interests of our people in mind in connection with the healthcare and other benefits we provide."

Benz, delta has two choices. Absorb the costs until they enter section 6, or declare ch11 to throw the contracts in the trash. I like their choice.

We all must keep in mind that Jetblue stated on the lifesbetterinblue web site that the insurance changes faced by Jetblue employees had nothing to do with the Obamacare, or, Affordable Care Act. In essence your insurance was gutted to save money for leadership and the investors, not culture. Also on the site Jetblue claims different levels of leadership are all on the same plans. While on face value this is true as most of leadership may be on the green or blue plan their disability, premiums and out of pocket expenses differ greatly from ours.

Delta and Jetblue knew these changes were coming. Delta knew prior to signing their last contract. They chose not to negotiate a change. Jetblue chose to gut your insurance.

I agree insurance has changed cmsoar but what this airline did to its employee group is far beyond anything anyone could have predicted.

But hey, it's better than having ALPA.

My wife just got a job as mid-level manager at a health insurance company. I thought her insurance would be significantly less expensive than mine, sadly they were within pennies of each other.

Zap while that might be true it is also Jetblue's excuse for our healthcare. We are compared with our peers otherwise why don't we agree to the same healthcare Walmart employees have. For that matter, if everyone else is doing it, let's drop our 401K down to 3% or get rid of STD/LTD.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not picking on you at all. These are the arguments Jetblue management uses to defend their decisions when it comes to our benefits. The MWW group, in their online interview, also stated that the key to getting employees to believe the message is repetition. So as it stands today we have pilots who justify managements severe actions by using MWW's advertising strategy.

Meanwhile Jetblue is a financially stable company with a clear ability to provide industry standard benefits.

It begs the question is the paint only being touched up when the house needs to be painted because something is in the works?

Now that's funny right there. I don't care who you are! Declare ch 11? Do you think they have some sort of BK button on their desks? Delta is making money hand over fist. Good luck declaring BK. The contractually protected plan will remain in place. And it will likely be in the next contract. If the other labor groups at Delta want it, then they need to unionize .

The democrats began controlling congress in 2010 and passed ACA. Delta and Jetblue knew all about it. Various provisions have been delayed until 2014 or 2015. Cost are estimated to increase 2-3% for 2014 so why are we faced with a 30% increase by Jetblue? In essence more money in their pockets. Culture? Seriously?

A Manager huh?

That's great. She is not required to hold a medical certificate and can continue to earn while coping with a multitude of health issues and medications.

PILOTS on the other hand are a very different matter!
