Delta, who EASILY hired the most in 2014 with 964 new hires;

47% mil, 53% civ.
The important thing to qualify here is that literally 90% of those civilians were from Endeavor or Compass (info direct from someone involved in the process)

True.

Since DAL has run a 50-50 to 60-40 split on mil-civ since pre 9/11, you think that trend is SUDDENLY going to go a different direction?

When you fly multi crew aircraft, you don't get more.

The regional airlines just are not an option.

We're a single income family and there's no way to support a family on regional pay.

I plan on staying with the contract gig for now, but from a family standpoint I can't do this forever. Another year or two, yes. Another five years, no.
Keep your chin up. I just spoke with a recruiter the other day that a CA buddy of mine put me in contact with. I was told not to go to a regional and to keep doing the type of flying that we are doing.

Quite a few regional guys (both FO and CA) are getting hired at the majors, most of them with no military background. The latest attrition data from XJT showed 67 to Delta, 75 to United, and 45 to American in 2014. And these numbers will definitely increase in 2015 as there are a lot of pilots I know who have been hired, but just waiting on a class date.

You back yet, or still at the last place I saw you?

I'm in DC doing the museum stuff with the wife until tomorrow but will be home until mid February.

Ok, so I am a Navy Reservist, prior C2A pilot turned T-6IP, and now a BE-350 PIC. I have been out since May and trying to get on with a major. I have watched people since then, with very similar background/resumes that have gotten hired with Delta/American/United/Etc but my email has been quiet.

Here is my skeleton in the closet: I failed my commercial pilot check ride back in like 2000 when I was in college.

Is this the thing keeping me from getting a call? Thoughts please.

I doubt it. I'd say it's more the fact that there are somewhere around 15,000 apps on file at these places. You'll get called.

Absolutely positively not an issue. Cr is right, it's about numbers. you still have to stand out, I can't recommend the job fairs highly enough.

Where can I find out info on upcoming Job Fairs? I am mostly interested in United, American, or Delta.
