Because United has issues attracting pilots, right? That would never happen.

Stop hoping for every regional pilots wet dream come true. If you want out of Mesa, you gotta do it yourself.

I think United is going to only want 10-25% of the UAX pilots here anyway - even if they took all the 175 planes back. United wouldn’t have ordered E175SC’s if management was going to cave and bring 175 flying back in-house.

Ask a senior captain that was a rep back in 2003
How United Alpa approach your MEC to get the 20 700s
New to United, as a matter fact first 70 seaters as United Express, on their seniority and tag the pilots to the bottom of their list, problem was united had furlough pilots and they would have been captains on those 20 frames and MAG pilots FOs, but hey on the United seniority
250 pilots would have been taken from Mesa approximately as FOs for only 20 frames. Lots of seating and collect FO pay, United started their recall by the way that year as well and hired at 2007-08 we know the massive furlough came at 2009 unfortunately but hey those 250 FOs would have been sitting well today with 2003 seniority

Fact, it was entertained, some lifers did not want to lose the 70 seat pay.

Learn the history of your union at MAG or ask

So, the United pilot union failed in 2003 to bring 70 seaters in-house from Mesa. Now, the United pilot union would need to approach RAH, SKW, and Mesa to do the same thing with 70 and 76 seaters today.

Maybe, United’s Ejet order is just a negotiating tactic, but United’s management is clear with the E175SC order of 25 Ejets: Regional partners will be flying them as they replace CRJ700’s. I am suspicious our 20 700’s will also be replaced at some point.

We all know our union has shortcomings. Why don’t you give us the last name of the rep from 2003 that turned down the deal? That way we can all ask him what happened.

I would recommend looking at SEC/Edgar for the docs filed by Mesa. Specifically who the single largest shareholder is ( AA) and that there are approx. 14 175s that UAL is making principle payments to Mesa for the equity of the airframes. My bet. If your subcontractor is flying your equipment would you be happy that your competitor is the single largest shareholder in that subcontractor? 20 700s cpas expire next year along with the beginning of the first 30 175s.

American being a major stockholder would have been disclosed to United in the due diligence before the CPA’s were signed in the first place. It didn’t stop United from signing.

There are only 12 Ejets owned by Mesa. If United doesn’t want to renew them, I am guessing American will put them to work.

Also, United can tap into the IPO. United may own a larger stake than American come tomorrow.

UAL was before the majority of the AA ownership.

13 175s. UAL makes monthly payments to Mesa for the equity of those a/c. All UAL has to do is make a single payment and they own them out right. They already own a portion of each one. Also, 90 day out notification clause.

Good luck. With AA owning 20% and SKYW wanting to have more AA flying I would say SKYW INC will be buying the stock. Not UAL.

What date did AAL buy in and where is that in the filing? And, it is 12 Ejets and they are in Mesa’s name. Do you have a copy of the CPA that says UAL can buy them?

No, you just pulling sh*t out of your a$$.

Mesa only owns Casper outright. Everything else banks own. Mesa doesn't really have anything of value, it's a shell company where everything is leased including the engines.
