At least 6 months, you will right there with the new hires. Also plan only FO pay until upgrade is complete.

Yes, the only ones that have priority right now are the guys coming from FO Ejet to Ejet CA, because they need less simulator sessions.

Thanks for the info. Gosh that sucks it’s backed up that much. Although I guess it’s free vacation.

Default New hire training

Hello fellow aviators, as a new hire into Mesa, I am seeing on here to expect about 10-12 month wait for training. I’m trying to read all the threads to see why the delay. Is it because of sim availability? I’m sure there are many factors, but what is or are the key players for the lengthy wait? The recruiter informed me that they have a new sim becoming available in January that will result in a 3 month delay for new hires. Are they just telling me that? Thank you!

If you pick the CRJ expect almost no delays, EJET is the bottle neck mostly due to sim availability. It could be 3 months if they bring the other sim online but most likely it will be longer like 6-7 moths because there are already newhires in the pipeline waiting for simulators from July this year.

Last I heard was 5-6 months in the E-Jet side from a buddy who just finished his systems class but like you, I'm new as well and I realize there are too many factors affecting these delays. Including other regional companies that operate the E175 calling dibs on these simulators.

So, I'd be starting in late May... What to do in the meantime ... 🤔

Start somewhere else.
We need to have our own version of Envoy’s don’t come here thread. We’ll even steal the same call it “Mesa Air, don’t come here.”

I am hoping it is better than instructing in a C172, but you guys have been there done that, at least you said they don't treat you like high schoolers so that has to be a plus for an old fart like me.
