Yes.

We’ve even lost 24 aircraft over the last few years and still somehow managed to end up understaffed due to incompetent management.

Isnt it just nuts to see no open time yet we’re still red to negative on the reserve grid? When one a/c goes down, or one CA doesn’t show and it throws a massive wrench into the entire daily operations, there’s something wrong somewhere.

Trust me, go somewhere else, you’ll thank me later.

While you’re right, it seems all of the aviate carriers forums claim their airline is in trouble and going under in the next year or two. Which are safest bets?

Mesa is probably still the best bet. The rest have a very uncertain future. Scott Kirby has already stated a big reduction in single class 50 seaters. I could see that entire contract going to SkyWest killing both Commutair and Air Wisconsin. Rising oil prices affecting profitability of the 550 for GoJet. The 175 brings stability to the table. Things would definitely stagnate if Mesa loses the AA contract but with hiring at the majors booming the sucking sound from above will probably overcome that loss in a short amount of time.

Our biggest concern is our AA contract. If we lost it, that’s a lot of people to move to our United side. If I had to do it all over again, I’d go to a wholly owned. If you signed up with Mesa today, it’ll be about 6-7 months of training and a lot can happen in that time frame. You gotta choose for yourself, but if it were me I’d stay as far away from Mesa as I could.

Death, living in North Korea, and maybe running out of toilet paper after you ate Taco Bell.

I 100% made the right choice for me at the time (DFW base, ENY had realistically the same pay but my age would have put me in NYC for months on end on reserve) when I came here 4 years ago. But if I were making that choice now there is no way in hell I’d choose Mesa. If you want a DFW base don’t come here.
