And I would be all behind voting them out for pulling that bs. But don’t punish the little guy here for someone else’s sins.
I don’t want to punish anybody. I would hope Mesa and fellow ALPA pilots would support the furloughed pilots from United. It is ALPAs policy to give preferential hiring to fellow distressed ALPA pilots.

why wouldn’t Mesa hire a furloughed pilot everyone that accepts recall allows Mesa to hire another pilot at first year pay.
That will be management level decision and the pilots don't have any say on it, anywhere.
Atlas CEO already went on record to say they will not hire furloughed legacy pilots. Unfortunately I can see that being a trend, with 1000+ regional guys on the streets with no recall rights.

This will suck for everyone.

Well Atlas is Teamsters and they don’t have to answer to another company that pays their bills. I’m not going to argue what if’s, just simply stating a fact that United express carriers must provide interviews to furloughed United pilots prior to anyone else. ALPA also gives preferential hiring to distressed ALPA pilots.

it’s up to Mesa pilots and their MEC to hold the company to a higher standard. I’d hate to be on the bad side of ALPA carriers and United when things turn around. Pilots have long memories.....Delta pilots still have major heartburn over ComAir pilots thumbing their nose at them after 9/11.

Gimme a break. Mesa line pilots have zero say in who Mesa hires.

I believe furloughed UA pilots do indeed actually get first hiring rights over street hires at most if not all express carriers contractually, assuming they actually are hiring. I know from what the old timers have said that at OO we had a bunch of senior UA guys flying the Bro and CRJ after 9/11 due to contract clauses such as these.

Wrong. Stop spreading this lie. I specifically ask this question in our last town hall and it was answered. There was an agreement in the past to offer an interview. He made it clear in the town hall that was no longer the case.
Mesa MEC pilots should come first on any hiring. ( pilots who were sent home during training) Then the MEC should arrange for any other ALPA carrier wishing to interview and make arrangements for that to happen.

Moot point. The MESA CBA contains no such preferential hiring language.

LOA 12-09.....go look it up. Read very closely paragraph 3.b.....I highly doubt JO wants to lose the United contract.

i wouldn’t be calling people liars and spreading fake news when you yourself are mis informed.
