As much as I disagree with the outcome I respect everyones right to vote. It passed and I will live with the fallout. Now we wait until Dec and see if it prevented anything, if more concessions will be asked, or if it will go back to a pilot vote.
1/4 of the pilot group not voting is kinda a disgrace.

So yeah, a 75% turn out here is a massive showing. Like I said a couple months ago on a different forum, Mesa has an extremely apathetic pilot group.

Not saying the outcome would have been any different, but out of the people who did vote it came down to roughly 50 people voting yes over no.
I respect the outcome but now we see what happens in Dec.

Saying this is a high turn out in Mesa standards doesnt make it less of a disgrace. The contract turn out and MEC postion vote were also a disgrace.

The worst thing about our government is that it’s slow to act. The best thing about our government is that it’s slow to act.

Can’t wait for 300 furlough notices to go out on December 15.
The clowns who voted yes will say “we’ll vote yes again!!” While JO ignores them and sends them packing January 1.
this passing just prevented anyone who stood to be furloughed from even getting a seasonal holiday job. It does nothing but hurt a junior FO. And will put them 3 months behind other regional guys who have been looking/getting hired elsewhere since oct 1.

Couldnt said FO just go apply for the job anyway and take the VLOA for the next 3 months? Keeps all of his/her benefits and seniority, secures a new job (not at the end of the line for employment) PLUS gets 20 hours of pay. Why not just do that?? Seems like win for anyone who was wanting to look for a seasonal job anyway... plus if one doesnt pan out, they still have this one for the next 3 months if they want to make 68 hours instead of the 20 VLOA hours.
