I waited all this time for that? I guess I'll have to wait for another opportunity to discuss the finer points of flying jets in a 121 environment with you.

Bah.

The types of equipment you've flown, places you've lived, schools you went to, etc., does not preclude anyone from having an opinion. I may not agree with some of the things he says, but attacking him based on some fake metric you've all created instead of addressing his statements is an attempt to silence an unpopular opinion. Doing so makes his arguments stronger.

Obviously there are tests that have to be passed and standards which must be met, but let's face it you're not going to learn everything you need to know in ground school.

If I ever get to the point where I feel that I need to stop learning, then I need to remove myself from the cockpit. That is a very dangerous attitude.

Some guys don't have the right attitude and feel entitled to this career, and yes those guys have a tendency to not do so well.

i think he is referring to basic skills such as instrument flying in an rj as opposed to learning everything you can from the captain. at least thats what it hought he meant

First off, this is a horrible analogy. You are trying to compare a student pilot who is brand new to flying with a professional aviator. Nobody in a 121 training department should have to hold anyone's hand to make it through training. At this point in your career you should know how to act as a professional and know what is expected of you.

Secondly your view of reality is not the way the rest of the world works. I hate to break it to you, and I don't even know if you are a current regional pilot or not, but seriously man up and drop the entitlement attitude. Nobody has a "right" to be in this industry.

Maybe he did, maybe he didn't.

But I've observed his posts and he reflects that of a **** poor attitude. Some people want the world handed to them on a silver platter. I'm still trying to figure out where that world is
