I think the company is waiting to see how the dust settles on all the base closing/opening before assigning new hires to bases other than Dulles. PHX is losing some of the LAX flying so that maybe why they are holding things lower in PHX. It's easy to throw everyone into IAD on reserve and then just DH them around if they need them elsewhere until they get things more squared away. They've always done that with IAD.

I thought nothing was changing with the LAX flying until sometime in 2015 according to that Kevin Wilson email from a few days ago. I understand your thought on waiting for the dust to settle, just doesn't seem that hard to look at everybody's standing bid and forecast when and where you'll need people. Maybe that's what they've done with the next award on Monday. We'll see.

Mesa has always found it tough to plan adequately ahead. They always get nervous about it costing too much money.

From the last email: "We plan to repost the CLT displacement on October 20 with a December 2014 effective date."

Sorry, you're full of ****. They don't forecast that far out. Plus, Ejet deliveries pick up to 3 per month for the last 15 and attrition is actually picking up as well.

I thought it was gonna be street captains by spring...now it's hiring is stopping. The rumor mill is certainly churning out some wild stuff this month!
By the way, if it was an instructor...they usually know less than the average line pilot as far as "inside scoop" goes.

Relax, I was told it would just be a short bit before they hired again. Maybe a couple of months. I think with all of this movement, they have not realized how many guys will retire, or quit and go to PSA. So just be patient. We still need pilots, just a short break on hiring early next year until Mesa realizes how short we are again...ha
