I think you guys misjudge the reason I post here. I want you to get a better contract. As long as you are convincing the uninformed to come to your airline, that will not happen. All of us deserve to be compensated better for the job we do. Once your airline cannot staff, they will be forced to look at a better compensation model. If we would all stop shooting ourselves in the foot by chasing that coveted TPIC time, the regional industry as a whole would improve. It's really not rocket science.

Or you could listen to someone who actually works at Mesa. Movement is great here and you won't be on reserve for long. Even on reserve you'll most likely fly your @$$ off (I did), negating the need for a crashpad. Once you hold a line, depending on reserve coverage, you can drop and swap trips to get most weekends off. I have only worked one weekend this month and I could've dropped it if I wanted. Same for March.
To the OP...don't listen to the people on here who whine about everything. They're info is seldom an accurate representation of reality.

That upgrade time is dropping monthly as each new award comes out. Most junior CA is now 13 months!
They just announced 7 more plus options for the fall. We WILL be seeing street CA's on the CRJ.
Oh it's not 8 years? What is the most junior CA DOH then? One of your(SKYWEST) 175 CA told me at flight safety recently that it IS 8 years.
You skywest guys are something else.

Oh yea but being at a regional that relies almost entirely on a 50 seater operation when the music stops = great idea. This worked out really well for Envoy.

I sure have had a cushy life the last 6-12 months hand picking my trips since I was so senior on the FO side and I'm a freaking Spring '13 hire!!

No one is bailing Mesa right now for other airlines, except a handful of junior FOs who live in CLT for PSA.
You Skywest guys are so unnattached from the current Mesa Airlines its laughable.

Until you can comprehend that some people do not choose a regional based on upgrade time, you will never understand. You guys have one of the worst contracts in the industry. Your 76 seat rates are significantly less than several operator's 50 seat rates. I'm not bashing you, I want you to be better compensated. I want all regional pilots to be better compensated. You don't understand that your contract is hurting the industry. By undercutting everyone else, we lose the ability to negotiate.

I'm first year at Mesa. Live in base in Phx and got a line all in short order. Got all the days off I requested on rsv and a decent schedule with a line. First year life isn't that bad here minus pay, which isn't far off most other places. I'm tired of non Mesa pilots spewing false crap about Mesa. Life used to suck here. It doesn't now. Get it in your nugget dude.
