I am interested to know what that is all about.
And yes I might center my decision on whatever I want, I do not tell you what to do with your life, quit being a Dbag!

I do not commute, but I'm away from home several weeks at a time. I do not fly for a regional, I fly cargo.

When you pass the checkride and get typed in the Ejet with Mesa, why do they limit you to "ERJ-170 ERJ-190 CIRC. APCH. VMC ONLY"?
I am PIC Typed (F/O) in 2 aircraft with another company and never got that, or any, limitations.
I was thinking about going to Mesa to be home based, and I just found this out with a friend who recently got typed there.
What is that all about???

I could be wrong but I believe circle to land maneuvers are not approved in the sim. I have friends at t other regionals and I know for a fact that some, if not all, of their certs show the same.

We did circle to land maneuvers in the Dash 8 sim. I think the main reason for not doing them is they are a pretty risky maneuver and would very rarely be used in line flying, so why train and check them?

A few training organizations out there will remove the limitation for you. I believe Pan Am in Florida will do it for around $600 if you bring a partner. A lot of international operators want an unrestricted ATP. I've seen this mentioned on a few China contract job postings.

I don't have personal experience with the Chinese operators, but it's possible they do circle to land approaches.

He meant unrestricted in the sense that those asian carriers do not want you to have any limitations on your certificate, not like restricted ATP.
