Don't care what anyone says, the Guesthouse Suites in ELP is one of my favorite overnights.

I worked for two of them and we stay at alot of the same hotels! The crappy one in Pitt is a republic hotel. The people complaining about abq... Try staying at the ghetto republic hotel there. Pear tree ghetto inn was a gojet, republic, and us airways hotel. I would love nicer hotels, but don't act like everyone has it much better.
So you're at your third regional? That says something. Draw your own conclusion.

Bottom line, we stay at a lot of trucker hotels. If you get a crappy nights sleep, called fatigued. PAX safety is more important than the company making a buck. I'm sad some don't see this. It's your certificate on the line. I've stranded 3 planes in my career with the company for a justifiable reason.

If you feel there may be an unsafe/violating condition, fill out an ASAP report. That is what they are there for. It's amazing how quick the company corrects unsafe conditions when the Feds become aware of the situation.

Just my 2 cents. Don't sell yourself short.

Out of CLT, we had crappy hotels, really crappy. The hotels in the DFW system are much better and you all need to thank your hotel committee for the work they are doing.
I am just happy that I don't have to deal with Allentown any more at that swinger motel.

I think you're accidentally posting in the wrong thread. You go find that thread you thought you were in, and you let'em have it! Whoever is making that argument sure sounds dumb, whatever thread that's happening in.

Maybe I'm talking to others besides just you. This thread (and life in general) is about more than just you and your opinion. Get over yourself and try considering others before yourself.

There are a lot of complaints about hotels, so that statement fits perfectly.

Or do you think lack of sleep or inability to sleep is not important in our industry?

Just realized I'm feeding a troll. My bad people. I apologize.

The OP you quoted wasn't making the argument you were sad about. I checked to see if anyone else was saying something like that, and they weren't. I was literally only considering others.

Your unfounded snarky statement to the OP you quoted was confusing, moreso now with your urge to consider others. That's all.

Everything you're saying about safety and regional pilots deserving better is well founded and good, so I agree and think we're on the same side in the big picture.

We all want better hotels. We're in agreement. Many of us have sent compelling pictures and emails and complaints to the Hotel Committee and Mesa, but is there anything else to do? So far these actions have effected little change.

Just complaining through API or whoever really won't do that much from what I've seen. I believe our contract says something along the lines of "the company will make prompt inquiries into complaints" but that wording suggests that they really don't have to do much. Fatigue calls and/or filing an ASAP will really rattle things up.

Can't sleep due to noise, unruly guests, changing rooms in the middle of the night, etc...? Fatigue call and file an ASAP since it is safety related. WiFi completely blows and you can't update your Jepps and company manulas for the next day? File a complaint and an ASAP, especially now that we don't have paper manuals in the aircraft anymore. Enough canceled flights due to fatigue calls and they will get serious quick. Plus anything filed through ASAP will get the FAA interested and they will follow up with the company to see what the company has done to mitigate the risk.

If you notice we don't have that $hit hole of a hotel in BHM. I fatigued after a night there. I did not sleep one second the entire night. Dirtiest noisiest hotel I've ever stayed in. I fatigued and wrote one hell of a fatigue report along with pictures. I went so far as to say that I will not accept an overnight in BHM if this hotel is where we will stay. We now stay at the Sheraton. Not saying it was mine that did it but I'm sure it helped.

Sorry for the ambiguity. I was generalizing the hotel conversation as a whole. Glad to hear we are in agreement. Those that feel we are receiving 'good enough' for being a low cost regional worry me. Aim higher people!

And it only takes one serious ASAP to get attention. I do mean "serious", not something along the lines of a rude van driver. If it is safety related, put it in an ASAP.
