There are few 9 year FO's hear and is just basically furlough protection, a 9 year FO gets a 9.5% increase on signing of the contract.

Not defending it, just putting it out there.
$37.96 to $40.00 is a ~5% increase. And for an 8-year FO it's still a 1% increase. Also, why is anybody a 9-year FO here and why should anybody care about them?

Republic Airways puts it all on table at big labor summit with carrier's pilots - Chicago Business Journal
So if their "final and best" still isn't good enough then what happens? The company shuts the doors?

Not going to lie, the title "big labor" and other things in the first half of the article made me think they were going to start blaming the pilots for this issue. I'm glad the end of the article highlighted the low pay and weak work rules under Bedford's reign.

So, the contract offer is going to be a high profile event in DC? What a circus the executives are creating. If they shoot this down, the union better be ready with PR of their own to explain why they didn't accept it.

I believe Republic's decision to make this very public is so they can get public support for the crap margins mainline awards these contracts. You'll hear things like whipsaw, 1500 hr rule, congress, and obviously we the pilots. This could be a huge turning point in the regional industry if the RJET pilots still turn it down. If they vote yes on sub par then it's business as usual and the whipsaw continues.

An arbitrator assigns you a contract

That's not how that works. You need to retake RLA 101

Sorry, bad math on my part. I'm told the reason to care about 9 year FO's is in case there is ever another time of furloughs like there was a few years ago. It would lessen the impact of going from a captain back to an FO.
