NetJets Hiring Process

Thanks for the useful advice, Ill definitely bring that mindset. Was just trying to avoid more threads of how much the airline guys make and why not to come. Read through 38 pages of the FO pay thread just to gather 10 or so data points that could have been in one page. Guess it was a poor choice of words…I’m currently working a similar gig with less of set schedule and less pay so I have an little idea of what to expect. So far it beats the last decade of bending wrenches on night shift and being covered in Jet A or lav juice.
Got one….need to be able to afford the fuel to put in it. Didn’t mean to apply that I’d fly for free…just that I already know the legacy captains get paid more and I don’t think I’d care for that type of flying.

hey all, I am looking at jumping back into professional flying after a 2 year hiatus due to the pandemic. I have just shy of 2000s hours with about a 350 at 121 and 700 at another fractional. I was looking at applying to NJ but I was wondering if the fact that I haven't flown a jet in the past 2 years was going to be a problem. I have been doing some part-time instructing over the last several months to continue to stay current and up to date with my aviation knowledge (mainly doing instrument instruction), so it's not like I have been out of the cockpit altogether.
Would appreciate the input.

If this post shows up twice, I apologize, my computer was acting strange when I tried posting it the first time.

I’ve been doing a lot of reading and I think NetJets may be my end goal. What’s the current time frame looking like from application-interview-CJO-Indoc? Does everyone go through a 3 day hiring expo or do they hire outside of that? My ATP/CTP is scheduled for next week; should I be applying now or waiting until I’m finished with the written? Trying to figure out the best way to time things without burning a bridge at my current employer if things happen to work out. Hate to leave right after they pay for a recurrent. Thanks for all the info! PS…and don’t say go to the airlines- I fly for fun, getting paid is a bonus!

Reasonably quick. I Just attended the expo last week. I Submitted my application on a saturday, got a virtual interview request on Tuesday for about a week later. Got invited to the expo during the virtual interview, which was 3.5 weeks away. Received an offer 1 week after the expo, given a class date 2.5 weeks away. So from application submission to indoc will be 65 days. Could be more or less depending on when you submit in relation to the expo. I am already ATP rated, but on the logbook review form, the lowest option you can check is that you at least have your ATP written scheduled.

FYI - according to the latest bid, Delta’s most junior upgrade to 757/767 CAPTAIN is now only 4.5 months on the property!!!!! Brand new pilots. True, it would be NYC based, but that is nuts! How long is the upgrade now at Netjets - and onto what types?

The most junior PIC award from the last bid was a August 2016 hire and was awarded Phenom. We’re only 178 numbers from April 2021 hires.

ATP Mins
How many hours of sim are typically allotted for NJA new hires? Do they allow new hires to show up to Indoc with 1475 hrs? Curious if it’s at all similar to the regionals hiring at 1475 and allowing 25 hours in the FFS.

Each fleet is different. Just for reference, if there are ten sim sessions for your type, each session is two hours, with two sessions per day. Not sure if types are required in left seat anymore, but you log 4 hours per day. Two as pilot flying, two as pilot monitoring. Ten sessions, as in my example, logs you 40 hours in type, as they are all level D sims.

I think you really want to check this with NJ hiring, as it’s entirely possible you must meet minimums BEFORE you start. I wouldn’t go by what some part-time, wannabe, keyboard warrior says in these forums.
