Does NetJets allow you to fly for compensation on your days off, like flight instructing or even DPE for example?

It must be approved. I teach on the side and they approved it without issue

Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not. 2 weeks right away is pretty impressive.

Not at all, it’s seriously awesome. You don’t get 2 weeks right away. You get 10 days I think.

A quick email to Labor Relations and you can be approved for outside flying as long as it doesn't include ANY Part 135 operations. Straight 91 corporate contract work, flight instruction, etc. are no problem at all. One of the pilots in my fleet is an extremely busy Designated Examiner in Louisiana.

As for the soft money question, I don't include tips or per diem in any of my earnings calculations. I SPEND my per diem and it ISN'T income. Tips are few and far between.

To me, soft money is hourly overtime, holiday pay, and after-midnight events (two day's pay when they can't get you home on the last day). I have averaged about 6% but I am on a 7-7 with lots of holidays landing in the schedule. Some believe GLC pilots make all sorts of overtime for the long range trips and that may be true: for the BUBBA CLUB. Not so much for clip-wing domestic fodder.

YMMV

Why do you feel that you have made a bad decision? What schedule and aircraft are you on? Feel free to inbox me if need be.

I'm currently waiting a class date.

Brother, Some people are unhappy here, some people are happy, 121 is a wonderful thing , great lifestyle , great compensation, this place works for some people, but if you are a sole income ,40 or under , individual your earnings prospects will be higher in the 121 world, especially freight. I think I'm one of the few people who enjoy this place who posts on these boards, but the reality is on a dollars and cents level for new hires , 121 is more lucrative, at least until there is some level of real growth, and upgrade potential.

The majority of those happy are the ones that have been captains 95% of the time they’ve been there.
