Hopefully NJA can put you in a sovereign or something since that’s where you wanna be.
Just heard from a friend at Netjets that tall newhires could find themselves in the Lattitude at some point. I recently got a good look at a Latitude and it is A LOT more comfy up front than any other Cessna. Very nice airplane!!!!

Maybe after their initial seatlock expires. If they want to put newhires into the Lattitude, you are going to have a LOT of p!ssed off FOs.

Every FO with a seatlock is going to be super ****ed if new hires get put in the Lat. Knowing how much NJA doesn’t care about FOs, that’s exactly what they’ll do.

They've done such things before and can do it again.

The last two open Latitude bids have gone unfilled. Let the new hires have it. I want an old plane that breaks every 3 legs.

To be fair there is less than 100 on seat lock since they haven’t hired much in the last 3 years. So it’s a small group of prior new hires to make mad.

Having done 121, 135, and 91k I can say NJA is the most polarized group. There are some great guys at NJA and there are some special ones. Sadly it is inverse seniority generally. The longer they have been at NJA the worse they are. The guy who got hired here in the 90s when they were making 27k probably had a bunch of major interviews but just didn’t make the cut. A few contracts later they are making good money and can’t get fired and talk about how smart they were to stick it out at NJA even though they never had an invite to go anywhere else. These A teamers are happy to have a job and never fatigue or write up planes and the company loves them. Yes there are exceptions but in general give me a 2004 captain over a 1999 captain any day of the week. And yes before you ask they do all hate flying with me too

They can and will do it again, no doubt.

Unfortunately that is a symptom of the poor aircraft/design choices and the general disregard for seniority and treatment of FOs.

Even some of the junior captains are head scratchers. The vast majority of real senior captains that I flew with were either scabs or real gigantic pieces of work that had to be babysat. The younger guys are better pilots but you can tell the ones that would flag a modern day 121 interview.

The list of just odd, unconventional behavior is endless. I had a captain trim their fingernails right onto the floor one time lol. Bringing their work phones to the bar “just in case the company needed them” or guys that would routinely call to extend on behalf of the crew when I absolutely had no desire to extend.

You can see that so many guys just wouldn’t fit in the 121 box, and I know of one oddball captain that has had multiple verbal assault cases among other issues and NJA turns the other cheek.

But then you had the guys that were super awesome and just wanted to live in no mans land where commuting would make their lives miserable. Let’s face it though, offering 27k to fly a private jet as a captain back when they did, attracts a certain type of demographic and I think NJA will see that again now. As long as the airlines are hiring right now, they will get the ones that can’t get hired at an airline.

Yup and that’s the culture that is bred though management. When the only time to get a break is when an airplane goes AOG, that’s what you use to create QOL.
