Im also looking at Cape Air C402, or C208. Bit worried about the time to get to fly though...Need 200 Hrs before July deadline. Is the SIC time logable for ATP ?

SIC time is absolutely loggable for ATP. It is 135 operation so SIC is actually required, but usually we use the autopilot in lieu of SIC so we can operate with or without a copilot. There is always a debate about whether the time is loggable, but I have about 600 hours SIC time from cape air, and got my ATP with no problems. Also just got hired from a 121 regional and they didn't mind that I had 402 SIC time.

You can get 100 hours a month once you hit the line , especially if you pick up some extra days. However training will take at least 2 months especially since we are getting close to summer and it backs up in the summer.

Any chance you know how many are based and in what Cities? PM is fine if that works better for you.
I can speak of the Northeast operation only. Usually 2 FO's per outstation. 4 on/4 off rotating schedule. I think the hub bases (BOS) have a 4 on/3 off schedule. I'm captain now so not too sure with the FO world. In the Northeast Region, if you are based in an EAS outstation, they are 13 hour duty days usually, with 6 legs per day, about an hour each. Generally you will fly a lot more as an FO in the winter, since the flight loads are lower. Unfortunately a passenger will end up taking your seat more often in the summer when business picks up. I averaged about 60-70 hours a month as an FO, but YMMV. I get the impression that guys are really getting a lot of flying out in Montana.

What are the hiring minimums for the Caravan? Is it amphibious? Where are Caravan pilots based? Do the Caravans have FOs? What are the schedules for Caravan pilots?

The 208 is amphibious. Currently based in FLL only. It is a fairly new operation here so most of us here don't know too much about it. But it is a 135 operation, so the seaplane guys get CASS now. Most of the schedules system-wide are 4 on/3 off, so I imagine the seaplane would be similar but I can't say for sure. There are FO's on the 208, but I'm not sure if that's just for time building purposes to get guys float time before they can be captain, for insurance purposes or something.

The minimums are listed here: https://www.capeair.com/pilotjobs/

I would email a recruiter to find out more

I heard the Mar 2016 class is very small with only a handful of people... Apr 2016 class is on the calendar and will likely happen. Anyone know how big that on is? Anyone know what is open on the FO side right now?

The smaller the class, the better. That means you will get through quicker. training resources are limited, and captains in upgrade training get priority over FO's. Once summer hits, they need more of the instructor captains to fly the line, so training slows a bit. Try to get in before summer. But if you do get stuck in training for awhile, you at least get your own hotel room and get paid to hang out in the hot tub at the holiday inn.

As far as open bases for FO's, it is nearly impossible to tell until you are in training. There are at least 20 bases, and people are constantly upgrading and moving around. FO's bid twice per year for a base, in June and December. If you finish training in between those times, they will show you a handful of open bases and you take your pick based on what's currently available. Because there are so many bases, you probably won't get your 1st choice, but will probably be able to at least get something in the region you want to be in (Norteast, midwest, carribean, montana, etc)

1800RVR - thanks for the insight. Smaller class is likely better, agree 100%
